Why was A Week in Fashion set-up? A Week in Fashion was set up to provide a valuable, accessible and digestible source of news and information on the business fashion world. Throughout the years, fashion management and fashion business have seen their uptake in students increase 30% (Guardian, 2015) on it’s graduate and post-graduate courses. The number of professionals working in the fashion sector in the UK and Europe has increased by 55%, and the number of self-employed people looking to start their business in the fashion sector rose by 43% last year alone. With this, the need for news source aimed and created by Gen-Z has only widened, but there isn’t a strong source to cover the “knowledge gap” in an industry that faces immense change and disruption, from digitalisation, increasingly unreliable supply chains, sustainability challenges and changing consumer demands to name a few. A Week in Fashion aims to be the answer to this “knowledge gap” and become go-to source for all Gen-Z, whether they be graduate or post-graduate students, professionals or business owners.
A Week in Fashion takes place every week on Saturday at 14:00 to 15:20. The debrief will cover 1 hour of news, and open the floor to members to ask a question during the 20 minute Q&A session. You can sign up to the debrief via the Google Forms sign up sheets, that are posted every week on the page. Once a member signs up, they are given a choice to be added onto the A Week in Fashion email subscription list. The subscription list will allow each member to receive the sign up forms directly to their email every week, as a means of conveniency.
