You may never know the impact that you may have as a teacher. In the classroom, we are not only teachers, but also role-models and cheerleaders for the future leaders of tomorrow. Our influence definitely goes way beyond just academic instruction if we focus on reinforcing their confidence and motivation to learn and succeed.

What are some things that you do to bring light to your students in the classroom?

Never a dull moment in the world of online teaching! 😉

I can't believe it's been a year already since I took a leap of faith and began working as an online ESL teacher!

After my 3rd child was born at the beginning of 2019, I had to wrap my head around the idea of going back to work full-time again, and my heart just ached! Just thinking about having to leave my newborn baby in someone else's hands and miss out on being present for important milestones and experiences, just like it had happened with my other kids, made me feel devastated. I just knew that I had to find a way to be able to work and also have the flexibility to be with my kids at home whenever they needed me.

I stumbled upon a VIPKid job posting somewhere online, and to be honest, I didn't think it was legit; it was too good to be true. It took some serious researching and interviewing people who worked with VK for a couple of weeks until I finally decided to apply. And boy, am I glad I did! VIPKid opened the doors to literally a whole world of possibilities and rewarding experiences being able to teach wonderful children online, and all from the comfort of my own home. All of these kids are a part of my life and they have given me that confidence to continue working on developing my own brand and becoming a better teacher. Now, more than ever with my own kids in online classes because of the pandemic, I can recognize both the challenges and the rewards of seeing your child learn and blossom through these innovative and wonderful online platforms. Online learning is here to stay and it's getting better by the minute! I feel so blessed to be part of this journey and to be able to play a small part in the success of students all over the world!

𝐕𝐈𝐏 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏!⁣

I don't know about you, but my kids have 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 had a complete fascination for my workplace. When I was working in my previous job they would just love to go to "Mom's office" and get their hands on all of my office supplies until I ran out of post-its and paper clips! 😂 They would look through my drawers, check out my filing cabinet and get all into any new items they found worthy of their attention. ⁣

Of course, now that I have a 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄 and I get to use toys and all kinds of goodies as work supplies... 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘉𝘜𝘛 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦! I love seeing that sheer excitement that fills their faces everytime they get a chance to creep into my workspace and see me teaching my heart out while I am with my students. They cautiously sit on the floor, trying not to make noise while they watch me and draw on an extra whiteboard that I have lying around. ⁣

A few days ago, my 5-year old gave me some VIPs (Very Important Props): the best, most state of the art class materials that I could ever imagine. While I was teaching a class she tugged on my sleeve and placed something on my lap... and I softly heard her whisper to me: "𝘜𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵!". What I saw when I looked down just filled my heart! That fascination to be at Mom's work in order "𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱" had finally become possible by making these incredible drawings! Now I have these limited edition props that can be presented in different parts of China! These are my 𝐕𝐈𝐏 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐒! 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵! 😍🤩😍🤩

Finding this job has been a complete game changer and 𝘓𝘐𝘍𝘌 𝘚𝘈𝘝𝘌𝘙 for my family and I! As a mom of 3 beautiful and crazy cuties, who had been working in an 8 to 5 job my entire adult life, I seriously thought this job sounded 𝘛𝘖𝘖 𝘎𝘖𝘖𝘋 𝘛𝘖 𝘉𝘌 𝘛𝘙𝘜𝘌 when I first heard of it. ⁣

Fast forward to today, and my life is completely different; this time 𝘐'𝘔 𝘐𝘕 𝘊𝘖𝘕𝘛𝘙𝘖𝘓! 👍🏻💪 I can now set my own schedule, deciding how many hours and what days I want to work! 🗓 I get to meet the most adorable kiddos every day that make me start my mornings with a huge smile! 😁 Most importantly, my family is my ‼𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐘‼ and I can work around their schedule from anywhere I may be. ⁣
