I was standing by the bus stop yesterday when I observed this โ€œAbokiโ€ (shoemaker) repairing a black high-heels shoe ๐Ÿ‘ 

There was this gorgeous lady standing beside him ๐Ÿ’ƒ
She was wearing the left pair of the black high-heeled shoe and a normal bathroom slippers on her right foot

This led me to the conclusion that it was her shoe he was repairing....

For over 15mins I remained standing there because I couldnโ€™t get a taxi thatโ€™s headed in my direction

As I stood there you wonโ€™t believe thisโ€ฆ

I watched the shoemaker man mend her shoe for over 13mins, it didn't look like an easy procedure and I am sure he did a great job because the shoe looked superb

After he finished

The lady asked him โ€œAboki how much?โ€

He turned with a subtle look on his face

โ€œanything wey you get madamโ€ he replied


The woman asked again to be sure

โ€œhow much na? oga talk quick ma dey goโ€

The shoemaker man finally responded saying

โ€œMadam you know say you na my customer, so just bring anything I go collect amโ€

Omoโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

You donโ€™t know what

I was just watching wonders

As the woman reached out to her small black purse ๐Ÿ‘œ

She removed N100 and gave him

He looked at the N100 with a little discontent

With a low voice he said "thank you madam"

And collected the N100

In the taxi after I have left the bus stop

I remembered the scenario

In my mind I know the shoemaker man was expecting more ๐Ÿค”

I just told myself โ€œhe got what he asked forโ€

This is how many entrepreneurs do

And leave lots of money on the table

They think people would pity them and

Pay them what they are worth

Here's what you should know...

Nobody will automatically figure out your worth oo

Thereโ€™s a saying

โ€œYou get what you DEMAND not what you think you DESERVE โ€

You have to show your worth by being specific in your pricing

I see many entrepreneurs making this mistake

Especially those who are rendering services

Copywriters, web designers, graphic designers, photographers and so on....

You shouldnโ€™t make this mistake like this shoemaker man

When you are being asked how much is this

Or what is the price of your service

You shouldnโ€™t feel confused ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Or sometimes call a very low prices

That is very dangerous to your business

Without being specific your client wonโ€™t know how much to pay you

Unless you want to be underpriced

To succeed in your business you have to learn to be specific

You also improve your business by improving your negotiation skill

Negotiation is a skill not a talent

People like specificity...

And specificity is clarity.
