Do you remember the ice bucket challenge?

This was for the awareness of ALS - Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

In experiments with mice, there is rapidly emerging evidence that the cannabinoid receptor system has the potential to reduce oxidative cell damage.

Did you know that the mothers milk contains Endocannabinoids?

12 endocannabinoid-related compounds have been detected in human milk.

This essentially means that the human body was built for cannabinoids, as these nutritive substances play a critical role in protecting cells against disease, boosting immune function, protecting the brain and nervous system, and relieving pain and disease-causing inflammation, among other things.

A review paper published in 2001, showed how cannabinoids could be actively used to help reduce the implications of vomiting and nausea after cancer chemotherapy, in appetite promotion, in multiple sclerosis and even in neuroprotection.

Many of such studies have been published in reputed journals but essentially nothing has happened. The medical community has failed to acknowledge it. This shouldnt be the case.

If something can help alleviate some of the symptoms in cancer patients when other drugs fail, dont you think it should be used?

The compound found in the brain similar to THC in cannabis, was responsible for a joyful or blissful feeling. This compound is also a methanol amide.

Dont worry, no more chemistry for now. Anyhow, Ananda in Sanskrit means bliss or joyful. And so, the researchers agreed to call this compound made in the human body Ananda - Amide, Anandamide.

In the 80s, a specific receptor for THC was discovered in the brain. It was called the CB1 receptor. This was a major discovery. This was the first initial evidence into the research of how the brain could have a system of cannabinoids. Basically, our bodies create compounds similar to ma*****na. These are called Endo cannabinoids.

The researchers used pig brains to to try and obtain the compounds. It took them about 2 years and they finally managed to find something that fit right into the CB1 receptor. But what was it called? Stay tuned for the next video!

In 1980, in Sao Paulo, city in Brazil, epileptic patients were administered around 200mg of Cannabidiol (CBD), another compound found in cannabis. The usually used drugs were of not as much effect but when CBD was given, it proved to be effective for epilepsy.

A naturally occurring plant, was able to do what modern medicine could not for the epileptic patients and decrease the number of seizures drastically.

A human trial experiment was conducted by a group of researchers in Israel several years ago. They infused pure THC, 10mg each, into a cake and had 5 family or friends consume it. Another 5 participants also consumed, regular cake.

The 5 that had the THC, all acted differently. One of them was laughing, one of them claimed they felt nothing but kept talking, 2 of them were extra relaxed but one, had elevated feelings of anxiety. How THC affects each person can be really subjective.

Israel, had one of the early tests in cannabis with monkeys. They introduced the cannabis plant extract to the monkeys to test how the monkeys would react and what would happen to them.

Well, to their surprise (sarcastically), they were just sedated. They did not sleep, but were calm and just sat without a lot of movement. The scientists identified one major active compound in cannabis and called it delta - nine tetrahydrocannabinol aka THC.

The industrial h**p we've been mostly discussing is also known as ditchw**d, a slang word for wild and dispersed ma*****na plants that haven't been planted, fertilised, or cared.

Ditch w**d is taller than the surrounding vegetation and has a wide range of colour and form. Feral w**d plants may reach a height of nine feet and have an emerald-green hue. They are commonly used for fibre and to manufacture commercial items and medical supplies such as sorbent pads and fabric bandages.

It was particularly beneficial during World War II, when it assisted in the creation of materials to aid the war effort.

If we speak about THC, it's a very small quantity that's only generated in temperate zones, but has a lot of CBD content. It could still be useable if you dry and cure it properly, according to some folks. However, if you're looking for an intoxicating high, we wouldn't recommend it.

Cannabidiol commony called CBD is a molecule found in the cannabis. It is a kind of Cannabis sativa that contains only trace quantities of THC.

CBD appears to have an impact on some brain chemicals. In the United States, one kind of CBD is licenced as a seizure medication.

CBD in a prescription form is used to treat epilepsy (epilepsy). CBD is also used to treat anxiety, pain, dystonia, Parkinson's disease, Crohn's disease, and a variety of other ailments. And also in persons with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), cannabidiol has been demonstrated to help with pain, muscular stiffness, and urine frequency.

The Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC’s medical usefulness is undeniable, and THC tablets are widely accessible around the world, but the natural plant is a far greater treatment.
The resin of the plant includes at least sixty different chemicals.

They include cannabinol (CBN), cannabichromene (CBC), cannabidiol (CBD), and cannabigerol (CBG), which can be extracted from both industrial h**p and resinous cannabis and have potential medicinal use.

Antimicrobial activity has been demonstrated for these organic compounds and their analogues. They are nonpsychoactive and are neither subject to international legislation prohibiting cannabis and THC, nor are they being commercially promoted on a large basis.

Cannabis h**p, as we all know, has been utilized in India since the beginning for both its fiber and entheogenic benefits. The resinous cannabis plant has been regarded by followers as a medication that supports the mental process and hence alleviate pain.

This plant is split into four categories in Tantrika literature, which correlate to the Hindu caste system. Different mantras—short spiritual chants or hymns—have been created for usage with various cannabis strains.

Its customers have been categorised into four groups:

• Priests, ascetics, fakirs, yogis, and sanyasis are all examples of ascetics (to stimulate meditation and a spiritual mindset).

• Shiva, Kali, Durga, Hanuman, and other gods' devotees (for ceremonies).

• People who engage in strenuous physical effort to alleviate pain and exhaustion.

• Patients seeking relief from psychological, somatic, and psycho-somatic symptoms

Entheogens, hallucinogenic plants with religious significance, have been used throughout history. G***a, a resinous cannabis flower, has always been recognised and absorbed into Indian culture.

The Vedas are ancient Hindu scriptures that form the basis of Hindu culture. India's densely populated tropical area is so ingrained in the cultural and spiritual use of resinous cannabis that its people were granted a cultural exception from the UN Single Convention Treaty on Narcotic Drugs. It enables them to continue to ingest the g***a plant.

As a result, it's no surprise that cannabis plays a significant role in the region's medical procedures.

It was studied that when an individuals took exceptionally large one-dram (1/8-oz.) doses of mother tincture, this high quantities of resin produced extraordinary hallucinations and fantasies, as well as exaggerated perceptions of time and space and feelings of intense euphoria and joy.

The patient enters a dual state, acting as both an observer and a participant at the same time. Many nerve illnesses, including epilepsy, dementia, delirium tremens, mania, tinnitus, and irritable reflexes, as well as exophthalmic goitre and catalepsy, were soothed by the tincture created with the resin.
