Leonids will peak on November 18!

In a dark-sky site, expect up to 15 meteors per hour at the peak of the meteor shower*, and the best time to observe is during predawn hours. The radiant and the Waning Crescent Moon will rise around midnight, and moonlight presents minimal interference (reduced visibility of meteors due to the closeness of the Moon to the radiant).

Here's an observation tip: you'll see meteors in all parts of the night sky when the radiant is high enough, and you should not look directly at the radiant in the Leo constellation. To distinguish a Leonid meteor from a sporadic one, trace the path of the meteor backward (to the radiant).

The Leonid meteor shower is active from November 6 to 30. Comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle, the origin of Leonids, takes about 33 years to complete an orbit around the Sun.

The Sad Cat
Written by Michellan Alagao
Illustrated by Eniddin (Claudine Aranza)

Join us for a book signing session with Michellan and Enid on September 15, 2PM at the OMF Lit booth at the Manila International Book Fair!

“In the garden — who’s that?
There’s a small, sad cat.”

What could the sad cat do? How could his friends help him? The Sad Cat is a tender story that will help children manage their difficult emotions.

In the story, The Sad Cat goes to his friends and asks each one what they do when they feel sad. Tenderly written in rhymed verse, the book also includes a Filipino translation and tips for parents and caregivers on how to help children manage their difficult emotions.

These are awesome books to have with the kiddos! Also great as presents for your pamangkins! ❤️❤️❤️

You are amazing, momma!

Great habits to start with and keep!

Homeschool Routines:
When the kids were in their pre-school years, I introduced the B-B-B-B-B routine to make our mornings efficient and hassle-free.

They know what is expected of them as they wake up and prepare for homeschool class. They don't have to ask me what to do, it's like clockwork.

The beauty of starting them early is that this teaches them responsibility and instills a habit of productivity.

Think! Mathematics has been our constant since 2nd grade. I love how Singapore Math presents different ways of going about solutions. Because there’s more than one way to come up with an answer. 🤗 -Mommy Kahna

In which we recreate a mini shaduf for ancient history.

Here’s a pdf we saw if you want to make one! It says: “Explore irrigation engineering of the past as you construct a shaduf. Learn how simple machines like levers help us complete difficult tasks!” 😊

Doodling her version of Birdie while I read aloud. Works for us. 😊

Don’t feel sorry for or fear for your kids because the world they are going to grow up in is not what it used to be.

God created them and called them for the exact moment in time that they’re in. Their life wasn’t a coincidence or an accident.

Raise them up to know the power they walk in as children of God.

Train them up in the authority of His Word.

Teach them to walk in faith knowing that God is in control.

Empower them to know they can change the world.

Don’t teach them to be fearful and disheartened by the state of the world but hopeful that they can do something about it.

Every person in all of history has been placed in the time that they were in because of God’s sovereign plan.

He knew Daniel could handle the lions den.
He knew David could handle Goliath.
He knew Esther could handle Haman.
He knew Peter could handle persecution.
He knows that your child can handle whatever challenge they face in their life. He created them specifically for it!

Don’t be scared for your children, but be honored that God chose YOU to parent the generation that is facing the biggest challenges of our lifetime.
Rise up to the challenge.

Raise Daniels, Davids, Esthers and Peters!

God isn’t scratching His head wondering what He’s going to do with this mess of a world.

He has an army He’s raising up to drive back the darkness and make Him known all over the earth.

Don’t let your fear steal the greatness God placed in them. I know it’s hard to imagine them as anything besides our sweet little babies, and we just want to protect them from anything that could ever be hard on them, but they were born for such a time as this.

~Alex Cravens

There are definitely more than two of every kind.
Don’t worry, there are plenty of goldfish crackers and raisins down there for them to live on..
