Every year, I have a Northern Mockingbird make her nest on my front porch on one of my many plant racks. Last year, she made her nest on my tall baker's rack. One of her babies fell thru the wire rack and landed in my staghorn fern cedar box. I carefully returned him to the nest, which made her very happy. This year, while potting my plants, she began her nest on the same rack. As she sat on my porch railing, I sat and quietly talked to her and asked if she could please please, make her nest on the opposite rack that holds all my succulents and cacti, as I don't have to water them often. She'd placed only two small twigs on my pothos rack, which I carefully moved to my cacti rack. Then as always, I put out a small dish of water and birdseed for her. My husband thinks I've been in the sun too long, having a conversation with a Mockingbird. This morning I woke to this.

This is the sweet photo of my grandson that caused some drama, many of you asked me to repost it, to me it’s beautiful and how I raised my children also, our GSD’s at the time kissed my children as soon as I came home from the hospital with our new baby… they were always the healthiest kids in our neighborhood!❤️

"This was my Grandmas sink that she had in her kitchen for as long as I can remember. I would help her do dishes and we would have the best talks. Anyway when she past my Aunt got the house and didn’t want the sink when she remodeled. So of course I grabbed it up and it is now in my kitchen along with those sweet memories "

I would like to take the time to introduce everyone to miss Parham. she is a 2 month old beautiful baby girl. last night I was dispatched to a residence to a child choking, it was this beautiful little princess. she was turning blue and fading fast.. mom and dad tried cpr with no luck and when I arrived she was not breathing. the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY touched me and I knew what to do. I did reverse cpr and was able to suck the cereal out of her throat and she began breathing again. she smiled at me for a second and then starting crying which was music to my ears. out of my 25 years being a cop this is my greatest and most profound accomplishment and it made every second of those 25 years worth it all. I am forever humbled and changed by this. little miss Parham will forever be a part of my life...

”At the mall today with my two babies. Almost 6 year old Airryn and almost 1 month old Adasyn. We are walking around and Addie gets hungry. I ask Airryn if he is he says yes, so we go to the food court and order his favorite seseme chicken. We sit down to eat and order Addie's favorite boobie delight. I cover up and proceed to fill her belly. Airryn is eating his chicken, a Lady walks by with her food and child looks at me and huffs and dolls her eyes. She then goes to sit down, I see her look at me again and she walks towards me and says, ever so rudely, "you do know there is a chair in the bathroom to do that, my child does not need to see you feeding yours here while she's eating." I start to speak when my son cuts in and says "I don't need to see your kid eating while I'm eating?" She says "She's eating food with no body part showing". He looks Back at the girl and says, "I can see her legs you can't see any part of my sister." She asked me if I let him talk to everyone like that. I said "How, truthfully?" She told me again, I should go to the bathroom. Airryn got up and walked to her table she asked what he was doing and he says, (this made me proud) "I was going to help you with your food to the bathroom too. If you think it's okay for my sister to eat there...then its okay for you to eat there." She said my boy is disrespectful. I say my boy is just well educated at 5 years old. Please Share this with a mom. your friends and family so they know one of the best things a parent or guardian can do is make it safe for children to speak up to defend themselves or their family” – Erika, mom.

I got pulled over on the way back home from grabbing McDonald’s with my niece. I was going 12 mph over the speed limit.🚓 As the officer started walking up to my car, I rolled all of my windows down. My adorable and apparently INCREDIBLY smart 7 year old niece started screaming from the backseat “It’s coming out! I can’t hold it any longer! It’s almost here!!!” Now the trooper is HEARING her scream this and he leans in the window and asks her “What’s going on here???” She looks him DEAD IN THE FACE and says “I’ve got p**p coming outta my butt!!” He started laughing!😂 I was shocked and embarrassed! He asked how far I had to go, which was about 3 miles home. He told me to drive safe and get Miss Pupu Butt home to do her business. He could NOT stop laughing!😂 As soon as we pulled away I asked “What was that about???”😳 My niece smirked and said “I saw it on YouTube but I didn’t think it would work.” I said “So, you’re not p**ping?” She said nope and you're not in trouble either. I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car. The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant and I don't have acne. Life is great. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People get out of the way much faster now.

Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers.

I didn't make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row. I decided to stop calling the bathroom "John" and renamed it the "Jim". I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Old age is coming at a really bad time.

When I was a child I thought "nap time" was a punishment. Now it feels like a small vacation.

The biggest lie I tell myself is... " I don't have to write that down, I'll remember it".

I don't have gray hair... I have "wisdom highlights"! I'm just very wise.

If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would've put them on my knees.

Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't met yet.

Why do I have to press one for English when you're just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway?

Of course, I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice.

At my age "Getting Lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I came In there for.

I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names.

Now, I'm wondering... did I steal this meme from you, or did you steal it from me?

Today I was in a shoe store that sells only shoes, nothing else. A young girl with a tattoo and green hair walked over to me and asked, "What brings you in today, I looked at her and said, "I'm interested in buying a refrigerator." She didn't quite know how to respond, had that deer in the headlights look.
I was thinking about old age and decided that old age is when you still have something on the ball, but you are just too tired to bounce it.
When people see a cat's litter box they always say, "Oh, have you got a cat" I just say, "No, it's for company!"
Employment application blanks always ask who is to be called in case of an emergency. I think you should write, "An ambulance."
The older you get the tougher it is to lose weight because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.
The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.
Have you ever noticed: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.
The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he knows when he's really in trouble.
Did you ever notice that when you put the 2 words "The" and "IRS" together it spells "Theirs"
Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.
Some people try to turn back their "odometers." Not me.
I want people to know why I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and a lot of the roads were not paved.
Ah! Being young is beautiful but being old is comfortable.
Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.
May you always have:
Love to share,
Cash to spare,
Tires with air,
And friends who care.🤣🤣

"WOW okay so the most amazing thing just happened to me and I can’t help but share it with the world. American Airlines instituted a new policy where you have to pay to take a carry-on onto the plane. Which is ridiculous but off topic. I consolidate my bags into one and they measure it and say it’s just a little too big. They proceed to charge me $50, except they only take credit card, no cash. Since I just got back from Europe all my cards are being declined as Chase doesn’t know I’m back. They tell me that I’m going to have to miss the flight and head back to the ticket counter to pay down there. I’m pleading, devastated after a long day of travel. Then, this man walks up and says, “How much is it?” They tell him $50 and he says “I got it.” I’m astonished and tell him it’s fine not to worry and he hands the lady his card as the American Airlines employees stand in silence shocked by this man’s generosity. They swipe the card and he tells me to have a great flight and hop on board. I’m crying as I write this and as I board the flight. This man was an angel. I stop him as he’s sitting in first class and try to give him my money but he just shook me off and told me to pay it forward. My heart is so happy. There are good people in this world. Be that person for someone because I know after this I sure will be." 💕 Update: It was NFL player, Jermaine Gresham.

I am praying this reaches this young mans parents!!!
Tonight as I was leaving football practice with my three kiddos my 4 year old was so tired he started crying and acting a fool as we were getting in the van. My 7 year old daughter started crying because I told her we were having red potatoes as a side for dinner and clearly she wasn’t a fan sooo I threw my hands up and said FORGET it - McDonald’s tonight!!
We go through the drive through order food all three kids are now crying for one reason or the other I go to pay - I LEFT MY PURSE AT HOME. Welp now I wanted to cry. I look at the young man with tears in my eyes just from being stressed and annoyed and say “hun I am so sorry but I have to cancel that order I left my purse at home when we went to football tonight” WITHOUT HESITATION he takes out his wallet and swipes his card before I could even say “no I will be right back!”
I was like wait no hun it’s ok I will come back through then he replies “no it’s totally fine, my pleasure”.
I snapped a quick picture and asked his name to which he replied Wyatt ma’am. I told him I would be right back with cash for him & he tried hard to talk me out of it.
I just want his parents to know how KIND & COMPASSIONATE your son was tonight! He made this stressed out momma pause for a moment and realize this is exactly what we parents are trying to do, raise great humans. Well Wyatt sir, you are an amazing human!!!
I went back and handed him cash and had to make him take it because he didn’t want to take more than he had paid but I wanted him to know that when you put good out in the world it comes back to you ten fold!
Wyatt, do not let this world change your kind heart young man for its people like YOU that will change this world for the better!

On my way home from a 12 hour day of cutting lawns, I seen this gentleman, I have no clue who he is to this day. But I said no way was I gonna let this guy tackle this on his own. So I turned around and went back and unloaded my mower and drove across the street and ask the gentleman if I could help. His eyes lit up and I took that as a yes. I ran down, jumped on my mower and went to work. As I’m cutting the lawn I look over and see the gentleman hunched over his wife, resting his head on her shoulder. So I get it knocked out in no time. I give them a thumbs up and proceeded to load my mower up. The wife makes her way over before I could leave. She was so thankful! Their riding mower broke down and her husband has been mowing their big lawn with a push mower. It only took 15 mins of my time. I changed their life, for a small moment. I hope someone reads this and feels like doing something good for someone tomorrow. I’m grateful to be where I’m at and I’m thankful for the people that help me get here.

"A couple of days ago I was standing in line at the bank. A young girl (college age) was behind me with a Mason jar 1/3 filled with coins. I commented to her that she was supposed to wait until it was completely filled before cashing it in. She said that she didn't have any money in her account and that she had to cash it in now (it probably totaled $5.00). I remembered being a poor college student myself 30 years ago at BYU. So, when I got to the teller, I told her to withdraw $50 from my account and when the girl came up for her transaction, to see to it that my $50 was deposited into her account with her coins. The teller asked me, "Why? Do you know her?". I replied that I did not but that it seemed to me she needed the money more than I did and I was just "Paying It Forward". The teller told me that was one of the nicest things she had ever seen. I left feeling good. And, I secretly asked my Heavenly Father to bless both the young lady and myself because I have bills too.
Tonight, at the end of my work week, my last customer was the answer to my silent prayer. Their dinner check was only $49 but they tipped me $50...the same amount that I had given to the young lady earlier this week! They tipped me not the usual 18% - 20% but a full 100%! Someone "paid it forward" back to me! Karma! I felt blessed! Remember, "Paying it forward" will eventually come back to you! Everyone have an awesome week ahead!"

"At 11, his adoptive parents abandoned him at a hospital, never to return. 'Mr. Peter, can I call you my Dad?' I began to cry uncontrollably.': Single dad adopts 11-year-old boy from foster care after biological, adoptive family abandon him - "I received a call from my social worker. 'Can you take in an 11-year-old boy, just for the weekend?' His birth family abandoned him at 2 years old and now, his adoptive family of 9 years left him at a hospital like some disposable object, never to return. All their promises of a forever family were thrown out the window. Helplessly crying tears of anger, I asked, 'Where will he go?' There were no family members to contact, no foster homes available. 'He'll be placed in a group home.' There was no way I could let that happen."

"People are so mean and down right ugly! Disney is suppose to be a friendly place... RIGHT?
Well... No one would sit by this man when we boarded the bus for one of our stops. He had an empty seat on each side of him.
I sat right down and met one of the sweetest people on our trip! His name was Hank and he has worked at the Kingdom for over 10 years. He is from Chicago and loves the NFL.
But NOT the Cowboys.
He thanked me for not being afraid of him.
He thanked me for being a nice friend.
He said I was pretty and he thought all my tattoos were so cool. He said, 'I bet people look at you funny too because you are a little different.' I said, 'Yes, they do. But I try not to let it bother me.'
Lord, you should have seen the looks I’ve got on this vacay!
He said he had to leave work early because his feet were hurting so bad. So, he was going to enjoy the rest of his day off at the beach!
Yes, my friend, I hope you have a blast!
He also has a wiener dog named Frank. That’s what he was showing me a picture of.
We had the best little conversation!
Even if it was repeated a few times.
Just because someone has special needs doesn’t mean you should treat them any different.
Be kind, it’s not that hard! ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️

Back to work today, forgot my pass so locked bike outside Cannon Street station. Left work at 6pm to find just the cut lock and no bike, resigned to never seeing my trusty stead again asked the station if they have cameras. A guy appeared waving at me, asked me to put the code into my cut lock. He replied ‘I have your bike’ with a smile I will never forget!! His name is Abdul Muneeb and he works for South Eastern Railways, he was on a break and saw a guy bolt cut the lock and challenged him to give it back, he then took it inside and waited 4 hours after his shift finished to personally make sure I got my bike back. The world needs more Abdul’s, he is a legend of a man and a credit to his employer.

"Everyone, meet Mr. Gino. The world’s nicest public works employee and my 3-year-old's best pal. Mr. Gino has been working our trash and recycling route since before we moved here 2 years ago. Every Wednesday and Thursday, he drives their truck down our back alley, beeps his horn so we know they’re coming, and hops out of his truck to talk to our family. Even my in-laws (who live out of state but visit periodically) know Mr. Gino, that’s how friendly he is.
This morning our doorbell rang and Gino and his wife were on our porch, bearing gifts for our triplets and this trash truck (which we have coincidentally been looking for in every store for weeks). His wife hand painted the City of Orlando logo on the side and stickered Gino’s truck number and Dougy (the nickname the guys yell out when they come down the alley and see us in the yard) on the front.
To say they made my little guy’s day is a giant understatement. And I stood there watching all of this joy unfold on my porch while holding back some big pregnancy hormone tears.
Sometimes friendship can come from surprising places—never underestimate the power of kindness and how much you can affect someone’s day."

2 years ago my son saw a St. Jude commercial that changed his life forever. He chose to do his own research and find a way to help. After 2 years of growing his hair, Christian has reached his goal of donating over 10 inches in 4 ponytails. He has chosen to donate to the "Children with hair loss" foundation. He has endured an awful lot of criticism, and yes even bullying, throughout this time. From his peers calling him a girl to even coaches and family friends telling him he should cut it or offering him money to. Even still, he has never once, strayed from his goal and always took the time to educate others on why he made the choice to grow his hair. I am one proud mommy as always.

“Tonight, on my flight from Indianapolis to Baltimore I sat next to an unaccompanied minor who was traveling to Baltimore to see her Mother. With Southwest Airlines open seating anyone could have sat next to her, in fact many people avoided her and her boundless energy during boarding. But finally, the couple you see in the photo occupied the two seats to her right.

Within minutes the young girl began chatting and the couple likely realized this wouldn’t be a relaxing flight...and they just rolled with it.

As drinks were being served the couple didn’t even get a chance to voice their requests because they were cut off by the young girl stating, ‘I’ll take water with a straw and so will they so we can paint!’.

And they just rolled with it.

Within minutes the young girl had brought out her Hello Kitty paint sheets and the couple spent the next hour following her instructions- as you can see.

As I type this the man next to her is being covered with Marvel stickers. They are on his ears, in his beard, arms, everywhere. And he is just rolling with it.

Moral of the story: There is good in this world. In fact, there is more good than bad in this world if we just open our eyes to it. There isn’t a script or instruction manual for love. You just have to roll with it.”

I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse, and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient one ton truck refused to start. While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family.

As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands. When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation.. His face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier. ‘Oh, that's my trouble tree,' he replied 'I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children.. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them.

Then in the morning I pick them up again.' 'Funny thing is,' he smiled,' when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before.

THIS ONE IS WORTH SENDING ON. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

We all need a Tree!

Wow! My salute for this man!
"A Swatara police officer was called to the Capital Diner this morning. An elderly man couldn't pay for his breakfast; he tried but his card was declined. He panicked and actually called the police on himself because he didn't know what to do. The restaurant gave him his space to figure it out and that was the best solution he could come up with. Officer Anthony Glass went to the counter, pulled out his credit card, and paid for the man's breakfast. The man asked for his phone number so he could pay him back but the officer kindly declined. This young man deserves to be recognized."

“While waiting to board our plane, my daughter was being her usual inquisitive self wanting to meet and say “hi” to everyone she could, until she walked up on this man.
He reached out and asked if she wanted to sit with him. He pulled out his tablet and showed her how to draw with it, they watched cartoons together, and she offered him snacks.
This wasn’t a short little exchange, this was 45 minutes. Watching them in that moment, I couldn’t help but think, different genders, different races, different generations, and the best of friends. This is the world I want for her.
In a country that is continuously fed that it’s so deeply divided, I want her life to be filled with moments like this.
Joseph, thank you for showing my daughter what kindness and compassion looks like. Continue to shine your light in the world.”

As I made my way past them they all thanked me and shook my hand, each one introducing themselves. When I got to the front, they asked if they could pray for me. Said a quick prayer for me and I did the same for them. They then tried to buy my lunch which I politely refused. Get to the counter to pay and the owner told me it was on the house. So I dumped all the cash I had in the tip jar. Was a nice change of pace to feel appreciated and respected instead of feared or hated. Thanks for making my day!!! ”

This lady saw me parked at a City park this morning and decided to stop. She exited her vehicle with her two children and approached me as I was seated in my patrol car. She simply stated that she wanted to pray for me. Specifically for my safety. I expressed my gratitude the best I could, but she really has no idea how much that meant to me. Her little boy handed me a wilted flower that looked as if it had been in his pocket for a week. At that moment, it was the most beautiful flower I’d ever seen.
My prayer is that sharing this encounter will encourage many to give people a chance, regardless of race or profession. You simply cannot judge an entire group of people because of the actions of some. Don’t hate evil more than you love good.

Just wanted to share a special moment with our friends....
Today as Kevin and I were shopping for something to wear to his dad's funeral we both realized neither of us knew how to tie a tie. Kevin noticed an older gentleman nearby and decided to ask if he could help. We both thought he might think we were crazy..but we were both so wrong.
This sweet man did not hesitate when Kevin explained why he needed help and proceeded to put the tie around his neck. He joked with him about might taking all day to get it right...but he was determined.
After a few tries of getting the right length..he gently pulled it back over Kevins head and thanked HIM for letting him do this!! He reached to shake hands with him and then pulled Kevin in close to hug him and tell him how sorry he was to hear about losing his Dad.
He looked at me and said "take good care of him" and he walked away.
Kevin and I both walked away quietly as we were both having a hard time fighting back the tears.
I don't know this man's name...but I will never ever forget that heartfelt smile as he thanked US for letting HIM help !! God Bless you Sir!!!
