☑️SLEM # 23 – PRODUCT OF TWO BINOMIALS
Distributive Property of Multiplication over Addition: The general formula in finding the product of two binomials is: (𝑎 + 𝑏)(𝑐 + 𝑑) = 𝑎𝑐 + 𝑎𝑑 + 𝑏𝑐 + 𝑏𝑑 .
FOIL method: Compute the products of the First, Outer, Inner, and Last terms, and solve for their sum to determine the product of two binomials.
📚Example:
Find the product of
(𝑥 + 5) and (𝑥 + 3) using FOIL Method.
✅Solution:
💡F- (x)(x)= x*2
💡O-(x)(3)= 3x
💡I-(x)(5)= 5x
💡L-(5)(3)= 15
📍add the outer and inner term (just same base and exponent)
📌answer: x*2+8x+15

📝SLEM # 24-PRODUCT OF A BINOMIAL AND A TRINOMIAL
📚Technique in finding the square of a binomial General formula: The distributive property of multiplication over addition is applied to come up with the following general formula:
(𝑎 + 𝑏)(𝑐 + 𝑑 + 𝑒) =
𝑎𝑐+𝑎𝑑+𝑎𝑒+𝑏𝑐+ 𝑏𝑑 + 𝑏e
✅Example:
(𝑥 + 5)(𝑥*2 + 𝑥 + 5) =
📚Solution:
💡𝑥(𝑥*2 + 𝑥 + 5) + 5(𝑥 2 + 𝑥 + 5) = yung binomial e distribute natin isa isa sa trinomial.
💡 𝑥(𝑥*2 ) + 𝑥(𝑥) + 𝑥(5) + 5(𝑥 2 ) + 5(𝑥) + 5(5) = apply the rule of laws of exponent
💡𝑥*3 + 𝑥*2 + 5𝑥 + 5𝑥*2 + 5𝑥 + 25 = combine the like terms
(make sure same base and exponent)
📌Answer:𝑥*3 + 6𝑥*2 + 10𝑥 + 25

🔰SLEM #20-WEEK7- MULTIPLICATION AND DIVISION OF POLYNOMIALS
📍To multiply a monomial by another monomial, multiply the numerical coefficients then multiply the literal coefficients by applying the basic laws of exponent.
📍To multiply a monomial by a polynomial, apply the Distributive Property of Multiplication and follow the rule in multiplying monomial by a monomial.
📍To divide a polynomial by a monomial, divide each term of the polynomial by the given monomial.
📝Apply the Product Rule, Quotient Rule and Power Rule of Laws of Exponent from last discussion.
🔰MULTIPLYING POLYNOMIALS
💡2x(5x + 7)-yung nasa labas e distribute sa loob
=2x(5x) + 2x(7)–apply the product rule(multiply the numbers lang (numerical) and add the exponent with same base.
Answer=10x*2 + 14x

💡5x(x*5+10x–10)
–yung nasa labas e distribute sa loob
=5x(x*5)+5x(10x)+ 5x(-10)- apply the product rule (multiply the numbers lang(numerical) and add the exponent with same base.
Answer=
5x*6+50x*2-50x

💡(5𝑥 – 4)(3𝑥 + 6) –yung (5x) e partner kay (3𝑥 + 6) and (-4) partner ulit (3𝑥 + 6)
=5𝑥(3𝑥 + 6) − 4(3𝑥 + 6)
=15𝑥*2 + 30𝑥 − 12𝑥 − 24 -apply the product rule multiply the numbers lang(numerical) and add the exponent with same base. Combine like terms(same base and exponent only)
Answer=15𝑥*2 + 18𝑥 −24

🔰DIVIDING POLYNOMIALS
💡(6x3–12x*2+8x)÷2x –e distribute isa isa ang (2x) sa loob
Solution: = (6𝑥*3/2𝑥) − (12𝑥* 2/2𝑥) +(8𝑥/2𝑥) -apply the Quotient rule subtract the exponent with same base. Divide each term.
Answer = 𝟑𝒙*𝟐 − 𝟔𝒙 + 4

💡(20x*3 +25x*2 +15x) ÷ -5x
–e distribute isa isa ang (-5x) sa loob
Solution: = (20𝑥*3/−5𝑥) + (25𝑥*2/−5𝑥) +
(15𝑥/−5𝑥)- apply the Quotient rule subtract the exponent with same base. Divide each term Answer= −𝟒𝒙*𝟐 − 𝟓𝒙 − 3
