WHY IS OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED ON JUNE 12?
“There had been other Asian revolutions before. But the revolution which culminated on June 12, 1898, was the first successful national revolution in Asia since the coming of the West, and the Republic to which it gave birth was the first democratic Republic outside of the Western hemisphere.”

It's not enough for CHILDREN to just accumulate facts and knowledge. What's truly important in our homeschooling is how much they CARE about learning, how curious and engaged they are, and their willingness to continue learning throughout their lives.
Recognizing God's grace in their passion and interest are key indicators of a SUCCESSFUL education. And that EDUCATION should enable their capacities to better themselves and the world they live in.
This is what we advocate in Victorious Homeschool.
HUWAG MAGING PERFECTIONIST and Just Do the “Right Amount” for the Season You and Your Child are In.
Over the years, I have learned that things don’t go as well when we try to do too much in a day or are distracted. I had to set aside my perfectionistic tendencies and slow down to the pace my child needed. If we are going to encourage autonomy and nurture confidence, we have to be willing to adapt to our child’s pace over and over again. Trust me. If you relax a bit, you, your child, and the rest of the family will feel more at HOME. 🥰

Homeschooling sometimes means there are unfinished chores, missed career opportunities, and messy rooms. There will be spilled soup, scattered books, pieces of paper, and dirty laundry.
Eventually the little children will grow up and the dust will settle.
In the midst of this wonderful, occasionally chaotic life, we find the perfect opportunity to truly invest in our families. While you strive for keeping a functional home, don’t forget that this time is FLEETING, na sandali lang po sila bata. Hinga lang po ng malalim. ☺️ At siyempre, dapat feeling maganda pa rin. 💋😌
I DO NOT HAVE STANDARDIZED CHILDREN.
One major worry among homeschoolers is that they are not doing enough academically. They fear that their homeschooled children might get behind their peers in traditional schools, leading to potential disadvantages. As a result, many parents often try to replicate a conventional school environment at home. Marami tuloy ang stressed, kinakabahan, at overwhelmed. 😞
But who came up with the concept of "grades" anyway? In the 19th century, Prussian educators introduced a schooling approach, grouping children by AGE and teaching them THE SAME things. It was efficient and served the needs of the industries during that time. But the world we have now needs diverse skills, and this OUTDATED approach works against individuality and creativity.
Does this echo your feelings? It’s good that we can contextualize learning in our homeschooling while fulfilling requirements for school documentation! 😊

Charlotte Mason's quote, "There is no education but self education," means that true learning is a personal journey. While parents and teachers can provide guidance, it's ultimately up to each individual to actively engage, take responsibility, and pursue knowledge driven by their own curiosity and motivation. This aligns with the ideas of John Holt, Ken Robinson, and Peter Gray to name a few. Does it align with yours, too? Come home to Victorious Homeschool and support your child’s unique learning journey!
INFLUENCE is determined by two primary factors:
1. Time
2. Affirmation
Whoever spends the most time with a child and affirms him or her the most will have the most influence in the child’s life. As parents, you should desire for that position of influence to belong to you, not to your child’s peer group.
-Israel Wayne
Does this make sense to you? Come home to Victorious Homeschool and be your child’s main influencer!
A child's potential is immense, like a Genie from a tale. If we allow them to grow and explore, they can change the world. But if we stifle them, we waste their incredible power. Allow your children to explore and discover themselves when you come home to Victorious Homeschool.
The beauty of homeschooling is that parents get to learn alongside their children. Remember, you just learned how to use Zoom or use smart phones. In fact, there’s a whole lot of things you did NOT learn inside the classroom, and you are still LEARNING! Feel no shame if you don't have all the answers, as even experienced teachers often seek guidance or information from others.
No one understands and cares for your child more than you do, and you are the best person to nurture and guide them to be creative and MADISKARTE sa buhay as lifelong learners!
Does this resonate to you? Come home to Victorious Homeschool and build a strong parent-child connection to help your children thrive in the future!
Education is about more than just sitting in a classroom and marking time. It's about fostering a deep love for life and learning. We owe it to our children to introduce them to a variety of interests, making their lives lively and fulfilling. Let's cultivate an education that breathes life into every moment!
Come home to and experience true homeschooling!
The ability to read, reason, and seek out information equips you to learn ANYTHING in life. As parents, we aim to fine-tune this ability for ourselves and our children. And we chose homeschooling not just to educate our kids, but to cultivate in them a deep-rooted faith and a love for LIFELONG LEARNING. - Victorious Homeschool
Ever wonder why some kids pick up new things so quickly? The secret might be their WORKING MEMORY! 🧩
What’s working memory? 🤔
Think of it like a mental whiteboard where your child can hold and juggle information in real-time. This skill is essential for reading, following instructions, and even making new friends.
Why is working memory so important?
Well, a strong working memory helps your child excel at studying—they can remember what they read and solve problems easier. They can likewise keep up with conversations and build friendships.
It is also useful in daily life! From remembering the grocery list to following a recipe. Whether it’s a new sport or instrument, working memory helps your child retain and apply new information. So, learning new skills is much easier, too!
How do we help boost your child’s working memory? We teach them to be self-aware and do FUN memory techniques in this HOT Summer Volt-in Class!
VEE Homeschoolers will have Memory Games Fun puzzles and Memory Matching that boost memory. They will also do Repeat & Reinforce, Break It Down Again, and Visualization Exercises where they learn to create mental images of what they need to remember.
Supporting your child’s working memory can make a huge difference in their success. And we can help you support your child in this and in so many other ways when you come home to Victorious Homeschool.

The MARSHMALLOW EXPERIMENT, conducted by psychologist Walter Mischel in the 1960s, is a classic study in psychology that highlights the importance of delayed gratification. In this experiment, children were offered a choice between receiving one marshmallow immediately or waiting for a short period (typically 15 minutes) to receive two marshmallows.
What made this experiment fascinating was not just the immediate outcome but the long-term implications. Follow-up studies showed that the children who were able to delay gratification and wait for the second marshmallow tended to have better life outcomes in various areas such as academic achievement, health, and social skills.
So, how does this relate to the importance of delayed gratification? Delayed gratification is essentially the ability to resist the temptation of an immediate reward in favor of a larger, more desirable reward later on. This skill is crucial because it teaches us self-control, patience, and the ability to plan for the future.
In our everyday lives, delayed gratification plays a significant role in achieving our goals. Whether it's saving money for a big purchase, studying for exams instead of procrastinating, or investing time and effort into building skills, delaying immediate rewards can lead to greater success and fulfillment in the long run.
VEE Homeschoolers take on this skill in Episode 4 of HOT Skills: Delayed Gratification this Monday, May 6, at 2 PM via Zoom.
Why is delayed gratification essential? 🤔 Here's a sneak peek: Delayed gratification is like a superpower! Just like waiting for that marshmallow in the famous Marshmallow Experiment, mastering this skill paves the way for success in various aspects of life. 🌟

Easter Sunday - Resurrection and Joy
Today, we celebrate the glorious triumph of life over death, of light breaking through the darkness. The cross, once a symbol of suffering, now stands as a beacon of hope and victory. In His resurrection, Jesus conquered sin and death, offering us the promise of eternal life. As we rejoice in the miracle of Easter, let us remember the profound significance of the cross. Let us live each day in the radiance of His resurrection, spreading joy and hope to all we encounter.

In this quiet Holy Saturday, we wait with hopeful hearts for the dawn of resurrection. The cross, though a symbol of suffering, also holds the promise of new life and renewal. As we linger in the space between death and life, let us cling to the hope that springs forth from the cross. Let us trust in the power of resurrection to transform our lives and the world around us. Today, let us find peace and renewal in the shadow of the cross, knowing that Easter morning awaits with the promise of victory over death.

Great God of heaven, thank you for finding a way through Jesus to bridge the gulf that separated me from you . . . forever. I was dead in my sins and mistakes. I will abide under the shadow of the cross where I have found safety. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
