I'm feeling really fortunate and excited about the upcoming fall when I'll have the opportunity to speak at various colleges and universities. Establishing partnerships with some national organizations has been my dream for the last two years, and it's finally happening.
What I'm about to do to help grow graduate student enrollment and make recruiting easy for faculty, is about to be life-changing.
If you're interested in having me speak at your campus, please comment "SPEAK" or send me a message.
If you made resolutions for 2021, 2022, 2023, or the New Year to apply to graduate school but haven't submitted any applications yet, we should have a conversation. Comment "TALK" or send me a message.
Over the past two years, I've heard "no" so many times, whether it's been about affordability or timing. Despite that, I've kept pushing forward, refining my approach, and persevering because I truly believe people will benefit from what I have to offer.
Remember, a "no" today could turn into a "yes" tomorrow, so don't give up!

Have you considered how algorithms predicting college student success can be rooted in racial bias, influencing decisions on admissions, budgeting, and student-success interventions?
Specifically, these predictive models tend to forecast worse outcomes for Black and Brown students while overestimating the success potential of White and Asian students, as highlighted in a study by Denisa Gándara, Hadis Anahideh, Matthew Ison, and Lorenzo Picchiarini. https://www.aera.net/Newsroom/Inside-the-Black-Box-Detecting-and-Mitigating-Algorithmic-Bias-Across-Racialized-Groups-in-College-Student-Success-Prediction?utm_source=Informz&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=test
This reveals a crucial issue within Higher Education where racial biases in algorithms may be hindering the admission and graduation rates of Black and Brown students. The rush for quick solutions in screening admissions applications and student success has led some to overlook the biases embedded in these systems.
The mission of Apply to Graduate School aims to promote equity and accessibility in graduate education for all individuals. The findings of this study are directly relevant to the pursuit of fairness and inclusivity.
Critical questions about racial bias must be raised before gathering and analyzing data to address this challenge. Institutions should also conduct a thorough examination of their data processes to uncover any underlying biases before investing in new software, strategic plans, or fundraising initiatives.
If you would like to know more about how your program or institution can address equity in your recruitment and admissions process, please feel free to message me or comment below EQUITY.

Summer is here, and I've been getting many questions about preparing for graduate school. The #1 question is, "How do I pay for graduate school?" The average debt for graduate students is $66,000-$200,000, depending on the degree. Most graduate student debt comes from individuals who pursue degrees from for-profit institutions or professional degrees.
The biggest issue is that people apply to graduate school without a plan for how to pay for it. I want to provide you with the information that students I coach all know, use, and attend graduate school with little to no debt. Join my FREE virtual workshop, “How to Pay for Graduate School,” on JuneJune 524, at 8 pm EST.
Tell your friends, your parents, your co-workers, and your students. They all need to sign up. Fill out the form, and see you on June 5 at 8 pm EST.

Academically gifted and smart people need help, too!
Just because you got admitted in undergrad readily doesn’t mean you will for grad school. I’ve posted it a lot: 20% of people get into a doctoral program, and 53% get into a master's program.
A 3.5 or better, a 300 GRE score or better, or tons of valuable work experience and knowledge is not a guarantee for getting a letter of admission. In fact, for many people I work with who are academically gifted or high achievers, seeing the word “unfortunately” in a letter for admission into higher education is foreign. They’ve never experienced what is considered to be an L (aka loss).
I get it. You are saying, “Do they know who I am? I always get accepted.” That was true years ago. But the game has changed.
Don’t let pride, ego, past educational success, and a successful career get in the way of you getting help.
The best players have coaches who take them to the next level to get that W, or in this case, get accepted into grad school.
