Actually DO NOT SAVE THE DATE. Students, teachers and others in the field of education work hard all year long only to be stricken with panic over 2-4 days of testing that we are judged by.
Yes we want to test our students to see the progress that has been made and use those scores to create plans for the upcoming school year, however we do not need to be judging our students or even teachers based on these scores. What people do not see is the PROGRESS that some students have made despite the issues they deal with outside of school. People do not see the PROGRESS that students have made despite many obstacles they face that have nothing to do with school. People do not see the PROGRESS of the child that does not give up despite the fact that they know they are not on grade level with their peers. So please pay attention to the date, but do not SAVE THE DATE.
Encourage your child to do their best. Thank a teacher for the hard work they have done and congratulate your scholar for the PROGRESS they have made.

Often we tell kids to "go read". If they are not confident readers they will lose the meaning of not only the words, but the story as the fumble with the words.
Reading to them allows them to hear what fluent reading sounds like, comprehend the story and enjoy the story.
Students can struggle with reading at any age.

We salute the bravery of all veterans, but we would especially like to salute the moms who always go above and beyond to support their families and children, often regardless of the sacrifice.
Tag a veteran mom to say "Thanks for all you do!"

We know that growing up we had favorite teachers and our kids have favorite teachers as well.
Have you ever just fell in love with one of your child's teachers? What made that teacher great?
