PR 128 is110 cm high; yield around 30 Qtl/Acre in about 111 days after transplanting. It possesses long slender clear translucent grains. Its’ average plant height is 110 cm and matures in about 111 days after transplanting. Both varieties possess long slender clear translucent grains; are resistant to all the ten presently prevalent pathotypes of bacterial blight pathogen in the Punjab state.

PR 129 and PR 128 are improved version of PAU 201, a very high yielding medium duration rice variety was 2007 year release for cultivation in Punjab state, however, due to red pericarp color; the variety did not meet the specification of Food Corporation of India and was withdrawn in the year 2010 for cultivation.
