Y’all know how they say “𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘨?” That’s how I’ve felt during this 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of moving all my classes back to my website, recording new videos, and just going back to where I started. I let some things fall by the wayside so I could “𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀.”

I say “focus” because I wasn’t 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹. I just stopped doing everything and only worked on one thing. I use to dedicate my Wednesdays to grant writing…stopped doing that. And, that was not a wise choice. So, I set my whiteboard back up, pulled out my intentions journal, signed up for some classes (because I stopped doing that too😩), found my 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and relit the flame.

I filled out this application on Wednesday and found out I was a finalist this morning! Looking forward to finding out if I’ll become a finalist.

So, I'm going to tell you all a quick story. Back in 2021, I applied for my first business cohort, and I got in. It was the BEST experience I ever had and any chance I get, I am telling people to apply...just like how I'm always sending out the grant list and telling ya'll get these dollars!

Can you lose a job when you’re self-employed?

My first taste of “owning” anything and making money from it was in real estate. I was 22 and owned two houses. I was a self-proclaimed “Boss”. I even remember changing my Facebook status to, “I own, you pay” and my employment status was “Landlady”😕

But, once I started carrying myself as a persons that owns businesses, I realized, without tenants, I’m the boss of nothing. Without students, my Academy is like a vacant building. Without clients, I just have a website.
