𝟮/𝟮𝟮/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 — Ash Wednesday
“Wear your ashes as a proud witness to your belief in Christ, answer any questions that come, and you just might inspire someone else to start his or her own faith journey.” – J. Beckmann
The first day of Lent is Ash Wednesday. The custom of applying ashes to one's forehead in the shape of a cross gives it the official name "Day of Ashes." It is a season of repentance, contemplation, and fasting that gets us ready for Easter Sunday, when Christ will rise from the dead and bring us our salvation.
