QAU Leading Pakistan in the TIMES World Subject Ranking 2024
Quaid-i-Azam University has once again showcased its excellence by achieving impressive rankings in the TIMES World 2024 Subject Ranking. Our institution has truly shown exceptional performances across various subjects, firmly establishing itself as one of the top-tier higher learning establishments in Pakistan.
We take great pride in revealing that QAU has secured the 251-300 position globally in Life Sciences/Biological Sciences, 301-350 in Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry departments, leading the way in Pakistan in these fields. Moreover, our Business and Economics department has achieved a global ranking of 301-400, while Computer Sciences has secured the 401-500th position. Additionally, our Social Sciences departments has been ranked between 501-600 globally.
This remarkable feat serves as a testament to the relentless hard work and unwavering dedication of our esteemed faculty and talented students. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to them on reaching this significant milestone. We also express our gratitude to the research students, staff, and alumni whose invaluable contributions have played a pivotal role in the university's success.

Two Days, 5th Rectors Conference was successfully organized at Serena Hotel and Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. It was a real honor to be part of the organizing team for this prestigious event.
The conference brought together higher education leadership from 13 brotherly Islamic countries, with a special participation from our esteemed guests from Palestine 🇵🇸. It was a privilege to host such distinguished delegates here in Pakistan 🇵🇰, fostering collaboration and strengthening ties within the Islamic world.

Federal Minister for Science, Technology and Education Visits Palestinian Embassy to Reaffirm Support*
(Islamabad, December 26, 2024)
Federal Minister for Science, Technology, and Federal Education, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, accompanied by Coordinator General of COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, visited the Embassy of Palestine in Islamabad on Thursday. During the meeting with H.E. Dr. Zuhair Zaid, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Pakistan, he reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary highlighted COMSTECH's initiatives aimed at supporting Palestinian youth, including the provision of 5,000 scholarships and fellowships. He elaborated on COMSTECH's commitment to fostering educational opportunities for Palestinians and strengthening their access to quality education.
Federal Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui reiterated the government and people's steadfast support for Palestine. Sharing insights from his recent visit to Oman, he revealed discussions with educational ministers from other countries about joint actions to assist Palestine in the education sector. He assured that Pakistan is committed to extending practical support for the rehabilitation of educational institutions in Palestine.
To further strengthen these efforts, Dr. Siddiqui stated that he has already proposed convening an extraordinary meeting of education ministers from OIC member countries in Islamabad to devise a comprehensive long-term plan for supporting Palestine.
Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Zuhair Zaid, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government, COMSTECH, and the people of Pakistan. He acknowledged their steadfast support, emphasizing that these efforts will never be forgotten by the Palestinian people.
This visit reflects Pakistan and COMSTECH ’s continued commitment to standing in solidarity with Palestine and contributing to its educational and institutional development.

Subject: Visit of QAU PMYDC by HEC Monitoring Team
On December 20, 2024, a monitoring visit was conducted by the HEC team at Quaid-i-Azam University to evaluate the progress of the Prime Minister's Youth Development Program (PMYDC).
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq Ali Director ORIC and focal person PMYDC welcomed the team and gave them detailed briefing of the Center, A comprehensive briefing on the progress, as well as the success stories and achievements, was greatly appreciated. Director Sports Mr. Safdar, Manager Career Councling Ms. Izza, Manager BIC Mr. Umer also shared the success stories and achievements. The HEC Monitoring Team appreciated the efforts and progress.

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, proudly hosted its first-ever TEDx event, TEDxQAU, under the official license of TED. This landmark event featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Mr. Aziz Nishtar, Lawyer and President Harvard Alumni Club, Mr. Wahaj Siraj, CEO of Nayatel, Dr. Sassi Malik Sher, renowned public servant, Maria Memon, celebrated journalist, and Talha Bhatti, Environmental Scholar at IRS. The event was further honored by the presence of Senator Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, former Prime Minister of Pakistan. The theme of the event was "The Future is What We Make It."
The event was made possible through the generous support of university officials, including Dr. Salma Malik from the Directorate of External Linkages, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ishtiaq, Director of ORIC, and Dr. Amant Ali, Director of Student Affairs. Organized entirely by students, TEDxQAU showcased their commitment to creating an intellectual platform that fostered the exchange of innovative ideas and inspired change-makers. The program featured powerful talks and vibrant discussions, leaving a lasting impact on attendees and establishing QAU as a hub for dynamic thought leadership.
The TEDxQAU Team, led by Curator Ahmed Hassan, Co-Curator Daniyal Warraich, and Director General Fatima Akram, worked tirelessly alongside a dedicated team of 30 individuals to bring this event to life.

The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) is organizing the
“QAU Business & Idea Summit 24: Ignite, Innovate & Elevate”
scheduled to be held on
December 17th and 18th, 2024.

The Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad, Professor Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, called on Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Commissioner Islamabad Muhammed Ali Randhawa at CDA Head Office, Islamabad. The Vice Chancellor QAU congratulated Muhammad Ali Randhawa on his appointment as Chairman CDA. The Chairman CDA assured his cooperation in resolving the issues being faced by QAU.
