One of the biggest surprises and joys of this past school year has been tutoring the students God brought to Teacher Lily Virtual Instruction. But now it’s time for me to close this chapter as we all prepare for a new school year. Thank you to everyone who referred students, shared my posts, sponsored learners, and offered strategies and materials along the way. You helped keep the spark of learning alive not only for eleven fantastic kids, but also for me, too.
Teacher Lily Virtual Instruction
Looking for a licensed, experienced instructor to add to the learning of your child? Hi!
My name is Lily and I would love to help your family succeed academically.
Operating as usual
UPDATE***WOW. We have reached the goal! Sincerest thanks to everyone who contributed. I am so excited to provide tutoring over the summer to this kiddo!
Temporary sponsor needed:
Last month, the father of one of the students I tutor died unexpectedly. The same month my student's mom was hospitalized and unable to work.
Prior to both tragedies, this student was making good progress and starting to crack the phonics code. But her access to funds has dried up so I am out-sourcing to find a temporary sponsor or a group of sponsors to cover her tuition at $20 a week for June, July, and August. (total $180)
If you would like to contribute in full or in part to this new reader’s education, please message me.
Thanks

Love spending my Friday nights “in Japan" with this sweet student!
IT’S A HAPPY DAY! K scored 100% on her equivalent fractions quiz today - a skill we have been working on since July 29. Join me in saying, “Great job, K! Keep up the good work!"
Thanks, Uncle Mark, for the first-week-of-school encouragement!
September is coming soon and filling up! I already have Mondays and Thursdays completely booked. Parents, thank you so much for choosing me to be a part of your child’s education journey. I am excited to start working with them in just a few days. 🌱
If you still want to get daily or weekly tutoring sessions scheduled, do not despair! I have Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoon times open. Send me a message so we can start creating a plan to help your child thrive this fall.
What’s your family been up to in these last days of summer?
I’ve been scheduling, scheduling, scheduling! Are you looking for an extra boost to help your child enter the 2020-2021 school year with confidence? I’d love to put you on my calendar. :)
Shout out to the parents who have already reached out to me! I’ve loved talking about how together we can help your child grow and I’m excited to see what the fall will look like.
An important question for folks of all ages.
My students and I both choose what we will read during our lessons. Recently, my third grader selected a book on the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Today’s chapter was about the debate surrounding the 15th Amendment that divided the movement and how some joined white supremacists in their fight.
Me: “What’s a white supremacist?"
Her: “Someone who believes only white people are the best. But, that’s not right because ALL people are the best!"
If you need a pick-me-up today, know that there’s a third grader out there who thinks you’re the best, just for being you.
Reason I Love Virtual Teaching #2 - GOALS!!!!
Do you like accomplishing something, checking a job off the list, completing something that’s been hanging over your head for a while? I know I do! That’s why I love using SMART goals in my instruction. Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Reachable. Time-Bound.
When you think about your child’s education, what goals do you want them to achieve? From fractions to vocabulary development, I’d love to help your child succeed.
