Odell Ramgal’s Softball

Unfortunately, due to lack of numbers OGS will not be having a softball team this year. We hope to see everyone back out on the field next year.

Practice is CANCELLED due to field conditions. We will try again tomorrow, hope you see you then!

Reminder: Practice begins TOMORROW (7/29) from 9:30-11:00 at the Odell softball field. Please check this page for updates before leaving, as there is a chance of thunderstorms. We will make a decision as early as possible.

Attached is the current schedule for this season. Keep in mind some changes may occur due to things beyond our control, but we will make sure to update you if any changes come up. Parents will receive copies of the schedules at the parent meeting, which will be some time during the first week of practice.

**As a reminder, don’t forget to make sure your child has an updated/active sports physical on file. You may bring the physicals to practice and I will make sure they get where they need to be.**

Attention 5th-8th Grade OGS/St. Paul/Saunemin Families,

Believe it or not it’s almost that time of year again. Softball practice will begin Monday, July 29th at the Odell softball field. We will once again be having practice from 9:30-11:00 until school starts in order to more easily allow students to participate in both Cross Country and Softball and to avoid the hottest part of the day. Once school begins we will go back to our usual 3:30-5:00 practice times. If you know your child will be gone when practice begins (7/29) due to vacations or what not please let me know so that we make sure to include them in our roster count. I will post the schedule in the coming week once I have it all together. As long as nothing changes our first game will be on August 7th.

**Don’t forget those sports physicals! There must be a valid sports physical on file in order to participate. You can bring them to the first practice and I will make sure they get where they need to be, regardless of which school your child attends.**

Also please share this page with anyone you think may have a child interested in playing that hasn’t previously been on the team so they can stay up to date!

As a reminder we will have practice tomorrow (9/5) and our first regional game will be played Wednesday (9:6) at 4:30 at VFW Park in South Wilmington. We will update the girls on bus time tomorrow at practice.

Hi all, just wanted to post a quick rundown of our busy week.

Monday (8/28):
Home vs GSW - 8th grade night at 4:30
We will be dismissing the girls from class to change at 2:45 and then head straight to the field, so please make sure they bring everything with them to school. We will do pictures really quick before the game. There are no order forms, all of that info will come after. 8th grade parents please arrive by 4:15.

Tuesday (8/29):
Away at Tonica at 4:30
Bus will leave at 3:00. Again please make sure the girls bring everything they will need to school. They will be released at 2:45 to change.

Wednesday(8/30):
Home vs Woodland at 4:30
This is a make up game. Please have the girls at the field by 3:45.

Thursday (8/31):
Away vs Flanagan at 4:30
Bus will leave at 3:25. The girls will stay after school. Please make sure they have everything they need with them when they come to school.

Friday (9/1) and Monday (9/4):
No practice. Enjoy Labor Day weekend!

As of right now tomorrows game at home vs. Grand Ridge is still on, as it is supposed to cool down a bit. The game will start at 4:30. Please have the girls at the field ready to go by 3:45.

Practice tomorrow (8/23) will be team building indoors at OGS. Players can just stay after school. It will end at 5:00 just like actual practice would have.

Tonight’s game is cancelled due to weather. Beginning tomorrow practice will be from 3:30-5:00. Both coach Kaity and I will be there either right at 3:30 or a little late as teachers are in school now and we have training tomorrow until 3:30. When they get here they need to begin doing their stretches and run their two laps per usual. We should be there by the time that is done.

I was unaware that the timeline for the storms today got moved up substantially. It is not looking good for practice time so we are going to CANCEL practice for today.

Please make sure the girls are outside of Odell Grade School by the dumpsters tomorrow for the Livingston County Tournament. The bus will LEAVE at 8:00 please be there at least 10 minutes before that so everyone is there on time. Come prepared for a full day of softball. There will be concessions. Also, if you haven’t already and would like a tshirt bring the order form to the tournament and we will get it taken care of there, thanks!

UPDATE: The game will be rescheduled for a later date so keep an eye out for that information.

The game today is cancelled due to field conditions. There will be no practice. Please check back tomorrow morning on the status of practice before you leave home. I will be going out to check the field at 7:30 tomorrow morning to see if practice is an option.

Tonight’s game starts at 5, there was a mistake on one of the schedules! Please still have the girls here by 3:30!

Practice today (8/7) is cancelled due to field conditions. Please have the girls arrive to the game at 3:30 tomorrow ready to go, that way we have a little extra time to work on some things. Please spread the word!

There will be a parent meeting immediately following practice tomorrow (11:00). If you are unable to make it and your child is getting a ride home from someone else please be on the lookout for a couple forms that will be coming home and need to be filled out and returned asap. Thanks!

EDIT: Well a mistake has already been caught. I left out a double header at Lexington on 8/19, a Saturday. I will add this to the paper schedules I hand out at practice.
