Aberlour Primary Nursery

We have been busy this week getting ready for all our mums coming into nursery for a very special treat for Mothers Day. 💐 🧁 The children enjoyed playing games with their mums.❤️

We are looking forward to sharing our journey with you all in term 4.

We hope you all have a lovely Easter Holiday when it comes from the nursery team. ⭐️

We enjoyed a walk out in the community in the sunshine ☀️ with a stop at the park to practice our skills being able to climb up steps 🛝. We are learning how important it is to be active daily. ⭐️

This week we have been learing about where our food comes from. We all enjoyed trying pancakes and different fruits. 🥞🫐🍓🍊🍉🍇

We really enjoyed a visit from Tracy from tesco in Elgin and made fruit kebabs.
The children enjoyed showing Tracy their toys for our show and tell. Each week they have grown in confidence sharing what's important to them. 💖

At our visit to the library this week the children asked questions about the photos of Aberlour Orphanage.
We then went out into the community where we found the information that told us about the past.
The children all enjoyed listening to the adults reading the information and asked more questions about what they saw in the photos.

Ralphie our nursery Shanarri Dog came with us for his daily walk.

The children have all enjoyed taking part in our Early Reading sessions with Julie.

Some of the skills they have been learing are to recognise the characters, the illustrator and the Author and answer questions relating to the story.

They all enjoyed Julies magic wands and asked to make their own for our story area.

They have also been using our puppets and theatre to retell stories we have in nursery ❤️.

All our children enjoy outdoor learning. Our open space in our garden and out in the community allows opportunities for imaginative play, encourages curiosity and improves their gross- motor skills.
The children are becoming confident in assessing risks and working together to problem solve.

We are now closed for the Mid-term break. We hope everyone has a lovely long weekend and we will see you all next week. ❤️

The children chose our story of the week to be the Gruffalo. We went on a gruffalo hunt where we had a healthy feast by the stream. They found an owls nest, fox footprints and a log pile house.

They have enjoyed asking lots of questions and exploring the characters in the story. 🦊🐾🦉🐀🪱

The children all enjoy talking about their experiences in nursery and enjoy choosing photos for our floor book.

We have had a fantastic few weeks settling back into nursery. We can't wait to continue Term 3. ❤️

What a quick term!🎄

The children at Aberlour Nursery have been in the Christmas spirit.☃️

We have enjoyed our weekly visits to the library, the care home and adventures in our community.🍂📚

We made treats for the school Christmas fayre, had the loveliest time during our festive visit to Byres Farm and got spoilt at the care home with a fun party🎅🏼🎁

The Nursery Christmas Party was lots of fun with dancing, games and party food.🥳🪩

What a fun filled few weeks we’ve had🕸️🎃🚒🧑‍🚒. The children enjoyed a trip to the fire station and a nursery Halloween party!

Some children also saw fireworks on their weekend and spoke all about it at nursery so we set up some fun activities in relation to their interest. We also learnt a little bit about why we celebrate remembrance day and showed our respects with our own poppy wreaths.

The weather has been lovely for getting out in the community and we are all looking forward to the rest of this term with much excitment ahead 🎄❄️.

We all had a fantastic visit to see everyone at the care home today to show them our Halloween costumes 🎃 👻.

We have had an amazing first term in nursery. Today we enjoyed a walk up to Linn Falls before the holidays start 🍂🕷🍁🍂

We are looking forward to continuing our Journey in term 2. ❤️

Over the last few weeks in nursery it's all been about imaginative play and role play. ❤️

The children have made some amazing models with the blocks.
They have also build Den's in the garden with some support from their teachers.❤️

Our doctors surgery has also been very busy with appointments. ❤️

We had a fantastic morning over at Speyside Care Home being creative decorating Autumn trees. 🍂. Thankyou very much for having us.

We have had a busy few weeks in nursery ❤️

On our walk the children told us the leaves were changing colour as Autumn was coming. 🍂 🍃 🍁🍂. We collected pine cones, conkers, leaves and sticks to take back to nursery.

The children have also been on an adventure to pirate Island in their pirate ship they made in the garden with loose parts. 🚢

We turned our outdoor classroom into a cozy space to have our snack in. 🍎 🍏
