ASUU, others get N34bn wage arrears from 2019, ~ FG
The Federal Government has said it would pay about N34bn minimum wage consequential adjustments to education sector workers with effect from 2019.
The beneficiaries include the members of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities and their counterparts in the polytechnics and Colleges of Education.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, disclosed this on Tuesday while responding to questions from labour correspondents in Abuja on the prolonged ASUU strike.
The union had embarked on strike over the non-implementation of various agreements signed by the Federal Government. The union leadership had said it would not call off the industrial action until its demands were met.
But Ngige said the universities would get N23.5bn, polytechnics N6bn and the Colleges of Education N4bn, totalling about N34bn.
Regarding the ASUU strike, the minister said the committees set up during the last tripartite plus meeting of the government and university-based unions were given a fortnight to turn in their reports which they were still working on.
He added that the reports of the committees were being expected this weekend.
THE Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) may extend its ongoing two-week warning strike by two weeks if the government fails to meet its demands.
ASUP President, Anderson Ezeibe, disclosed this to The ICIR on Monday in a telephone interview.
Ezeibe said the government had met only two of the five key demands of the union.
Demands met by the government are the payment of minimum wage arrears for the polytechnic lecturers and the release of a normative instrument for institutional accreditation, a policy document for international standards.
Key demands not met, according to him, are the release of the N15 billion revitalization fund, which he said President Muhammadu Buhari approved last year, and the release of a scheme of service.

How To Link Email To JAMB Profile Or Portal And Get Your Login Details
JAMB UTME, many candidates who wish to perform one activity or the other on the JAMB e-facility portal have been unable to login to because they do not have their log in details. To log in to the JAMB CAPS portal, candidates will be required to provide their email addresses which must have been linked to the JAMB portal.
However, many candidates do not have their email addresses linked to the JAMB portal because JAMB banned the use of email addresses during JAMB registration. This is to ensure that fraudsters do not end up stealing candidates’ email addresses and use them to perpetrate fraud.
Be that as it may, JAMB has equally provided official means for candidates to link their email addresses to their JAMB profile and get their login details to access the JAMB portal. We are going to provide you with the steps here.
Steps on how to get your login details for JAMB e-facility Portal
1. Send Email (space) ‘your email’ (space) ‘your email’ to 55019 or 60019 as an SMS
e.g Email [email protected] [email protected] (Note: it should be with the Sim card you used for registration and you should have up to N50 airtime)
2. After sending the SMS, you will receive an email from JAMB containing your login details.
In case a candidate loses his or her password, such candidate can reset lost or forgotten Profile Password on their registered cell phone by sending [password] space [email address] from the same mobile number as a text message to 55019 or 66019.
The above procedure is how a candidate can successfully obtain his/her login details for the JAMB E-facility portal.
What to do if you have tried but still not able to link your email to JAMB Portal.
-You will need to create/link your email to your portal by an Acredited Jamb CBT Center to get your login details and also changing of password. We are charging a token for that, Kindly contact Admin for Assistance. Thanks
be advised there is no such thing as JAMB upgrade.
It's all a scam to fraud desperate students.
Please be guided, seek advice from proper sources, I'm always available for any questions and update you want.
If u scored from 150 - 180 u can still enter the university.

JAMB Releases 2022 UTME Result
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination( UTME) results.
Head, Public Affairs and Protocol, JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, said this in a statement on Saturday.
The board directed candidates to send UTMERESULT to 55019 using the same phone number that was used for registration.
The statement reads: “To check the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, all a candidate needs to do is to simply send UTMERESULT to 55019 using the same phone number that he/she had used for registration and the result would be returned as a text message. This is the only process of checking the 2022 UTME results for now as the Board has not uploaded it on its website for obvious reasons.
At the centre I wrote my first JAMB, then it was still paper and pencil test, there's this female candidate whom one of the invigilators said she indulged in malpractice.
What did they do?
They collected her paper and asked her to leave the hall. Some students pleaded on her behalf but the invigilators turned deaf ears. They squeezed her paper right there in the hall. The rest of us minded our business. The hall was quiet afterwards, because if you say pim you will hear wim!
It was really sad, considering the fact that this lady would have to sit for another JAMB; another one year of waiting at home 😢
___________
But guess what?
When I went to JAMB office to buy card and print my original JAMB result I saw this lady that was sent out of the hall for malpractice. She scored 303 in her JAMB 😳
How's it possible?
The invigilator actually sent her out of the hall and gave her a better hall where they helped her out with the exam.
This life is just like nyash; everyone has it but not everyone can use it to do Shedibalabala.

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Admission Status Checking Portal for UTME & DE Candidates 2021 & Past Years
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) management has activated the portal where Direct Entry and UTME candidates can now check or confirm their admission status for all years. Checking of admission status on JAMB portal is totally FREE!
As a matter of fact, some universities/polytechnics/colleges may not even publish their admission list on their own portal or notice board on time. For candidates that applied for admission in such schools, the only way to know when they have been offered admission is to check their admission status on the JAMB Admission Status Checking Portal.
How to Check JAMB Admission Status:
In case you don’t have an account with JAMB (especially candidates from 2016 downward), you will have to create one to check your admission status.
If you already have a JAMB profile, jump to the five (5) simple steps outlined below on how to check your admission status on the JAMB Admission List portal:
STEP 1: Go to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) E-facility portal – portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility.
STEP 2: Log in to your Jamb profile with your username and password.
STEP 3: After a successful login, scroll down, then locate and click the ‘Check Admission Status‘ tab.
STEP 4: Select your Exam year and supply your registration number in the required columns.
STEP 5: Finally, click on the ‘Check Admission Status‘ button to access your JAMB admission status.
Below is the list of responses you will get from JAMB and their meaning:
YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED PROVISIONAL ADMISSION: you can now proceed to ACCEPT or Reject the admission offer.
IN PROGRESS: this means you have been recommended for admission and only undergoing processing. With admission in progress, consider yourself admitted. Just keep checking back and see the notification change to congratulations you have been admitted.
ADMITTED: this response simply means you are yet to be considered for admission. Regularly check the JAMB site to see if any changes occur.
Next Step for Candidates Admitted on JAMB Portal
Successfully admitted candidates are advised to:
Login to their JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and ACCEPT or REJECT their admission.
Print their JAMB admission letter after accepting the admission. This will be needed during clearance and registration.
Print their original JAMB result slip (this comes with passport photography affixed to it).
Apply for a change of course on the JAMB Portal in case they are offered courses different from the ones they initially applied for.
Not Yet admitted? If yes, please take note of the following:
1. Login into JAMB CAPS to verify your O’level result upload.
It’s important to verify whether your O’level result has been uploaded on the JAMB portal or not. As failure to upload your O’level result can affect your JAMB admission status.
Log-in to your JAMB profile (https://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility_/)
Click on ‘Check Admission Status,
Click on ‘Access my CAPS’
Click on ‘My O’level’ to confirm if your O’level is uploaded. If not visit any nearby accredited JAMB CBT centre to upload your O’level result. Admission cannot be processed for candidates whose O’level status in CAPS indicates ‘Awaiting Result’.
2. Check if you have been recommended for transfer to another program.
Based on the JAMB CAPS implementation policy, institutions have the right to consider some candidates for transfer from the choice programme to another programme because of UTME and O’level combinations.
Candidates are expected to monitor their admission by following the instructions a-c above, then click the ‘Transfer Approval’ link to know if they are recommended for transfer to another program. You are required to either accept or reject, this transfer consideration. If you accept, your first choice institution will be able to admit you to the new program. If you reject, you will remain in your preferred Course / Program. The program transfer will not be effected.
3. You applied for the JAMB UTME with awaiting result.
Candidates who used ‘awaiting result’ during their registration are to upload their O’Level result on the JAMB portal so that their institution of choice will process their admission. Direct-entry candidates including JUPEB students should also upload their A’level and O’level results to avoid disqualification. This is to enable the screening officers to determine their qualifications for admission.

JAMB CAPS 2021/2022: How to ACCEPT or REJECT Admission Offer
This is to inform all the candidates seeking admission into the various universities/polytechnics/colleges/other tertiary institutions in Nigeria that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has activated the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) portal where UTME and Direct Entry candidates can accept/reject their admission offer and also monitor their admission.
JAMB admission policy states that all admission would be made online through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS); consequently, all candidates seeking admission into Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and Other tertiary institutions in Nigeria for the 2021/2022 Academic Session are advised to visit the JAMB CAPS portal to check their admission status and also indicate the acceptance or rejection of their admission.
The JAMB CAPS streamlines the Admissions Process, addresses the challenges associated with the manual approach, restores the autonomy of the tertiary institutions concerning admissions, makes candidates the focus and empowers them with information on available choices of institutions and programmes, expands admission opportunities, eliminates multiple admissions, and provides easily retrievable data for decision making and research on the Education Sector in the country.
Some institutions may not publish the list of candidates admitted into their various programmes on their own portal or notice board. So, admission seekers are advised to check JAMB CAPS to track their admission status continually.
PLEASE NOTE: Once you accept the admission, your admission quest is over as you will no longer be available for other schools’ admission consideration. On the other hand, if you reject the admission, you become available to other schools with free admission slots for admission consideration.
How to ACCEPT or REJECT Admission on JAMB CAPS Using PC
Go to the JAMB E-facility portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/.
