This week’s Staff Spotlight is our Porter Goodwill Boys & Girls Club Director, Akumdi Okwumbua or as we call him, “Ife!” *How long have you been with BGCM? Since 2006. *What do you love most about our org? Working with the youth, impacting them in a positive, and helping them become productive citizens of society. *What is your guilty pleasure? Crawfish! *What do you like to do when you're not working? I enjoy working with wood crafts. I’m an artist on the side, I make custom wood decor for holidays, sorority pieces, and sports teams. *What was your first concert? TI concert in Baton Rouge when I was in college in 2002! *What was your favorite concert? Perk Waylum at Crosstown, I became a jazz fan after that! *Favorite movie? Public Enemy with Johhny Depp, I love a good gangsta movie. *What do you need more of in your life? Time! *Tell us something that would surprise us about you! I have a green thumb, I do gardens, indoor plants, and grow my own vegetables, my uncle taught me! *Give us your favorite BGCM memory :) Running into old club members in the community that I have impacted throughout the years and seeing them do well with jobs or return to work or speak at the Boys & Girls Club.
