Hello parents,
We will be required to post grades for the second semester. The grades will be posted as Pass/Fail. For your child to be able to have a "Passing" grade for the 2nd semester they must have completed a portion of their work that was assigned. We cannot just take your word that they have been doing thier assignments, we must see the completed work in each subject. A majority of students have been doing online work and we are able to see that. If you have paperwork, you can take a picture/scan the document and text/email it to us. Once we have seen that the work has been completed in each subject we can then submit a passing grade.
We will be contacting you if your child has not submitted any work in any subject. They might have it completed, we just need to be able to show proof of that finished work so that we can document that it was done.
If we do not receive proof of completed work, a failing grade will be submitted.
Again, we will be contacting you if your child is missing work.

Thanks!!!

Hello parents,
I just wanted to share with you what I am checking when I look at IXL data. I can see every time/date the students log in to work. I also am looking at their completion of work.If they are having trouble the program will give explainations on how to solve the problems. This program offers amazing skill practice, please see that your child is spending some time practicing the areas I assign. I know that somedays are hard and stressful (trust me... I know), but we need to keep practicing! I downloaded the app on our tablet and that is how Kale is using IXL. So if you are having trouble with internet, like me, try getting on your phone or tablet if you have one.

Also...the Lone Star Daily Rigors are yet another great skill practice. I LOVE those!!! I always tell my students (about skills we learn) We Must Use It, So We Don't Lose It! We must keep practicing so we can be ready to roll into next year ready to rock it!
This goes for reading as well - Read, Read, Read! I am having to force mine to read at times, but it's not an option because I know they can. It's amazing what we can get from a good book!

Reading and Math are 2 things you will need to know how to do for the rest of your life.

I also want to thank everyone that has given me such great feedback on my Lone Star videos. Thank you for encouraging me! I have the best kiddos and parents around! Your support means so much to me!

Parents,
If your child is getting on Google Classroom to see their assignments for the week, please make sure they are clicking "Turn In" when they finish their work for me. I am using that to see who is finishing their work. Everything I post on here I am also posting in Google Classroom. Your child will be able to view the videos I post and check their work from there. When they are finished checking their work, they need to click on the "Turn In" button for that as well.
Just a Reminder - The Lone Star Daily Rigor packet should last for several weeks. Watch for postings on exactly which ones I assign. At the end of every week, I will post a video so they can check for understanding.

I hope everyone has an AMAZING Easter!
Lisa Vaughn

Edit- I’m so sorry, I made a mistake on #3. The correct answer is C 4/12 roses, 3/12 carnations and the rest are daisies.
My video allows me 5 minutes and I was rushing... exactly what I tell my students not to do 😂😳🤦🏼‍♀️
