Athena Hybrid academy has a broad selection of fall classes that most public and private schools will accept for credit. Our courses offer unique learning opportunities with our small class sizes and our excellent curriculum that challenges students to prepare them for life after school.

Looking to learn the basics about stock charting and investing? I have opened up a section of my economics course for both adult and high school student enrollment. The course is three days per week at 6:40-7:40am to accommodate work schedules. You will learn the basics of technical analysis including fibs, pitchforks, trends, order blocks, and Elliot Wave. The course also features a text which covers aspects of trading and longer term investing. Course starts June 12.

OPEC cuts production after oil lost the weekly golden zone from the covid lows. Oil had a key bear break recently out of a tightening range. A bear break out of a tightening range when the golden was support was a bad sign for oil producers. So in comes OPEC to the rescue to try to prop up the price of oil by artificially limiting supply. If you don’t think the big players watch the charts, you are crazy. If you want your high school student to learn investing analysis like this, consider enrolling in our summer or fall economics course.

The collapse of Silicon Valley Bank is yet another reminder of the importance of financial and market literacy, a subject that is mysteriously absent from most schools. This summer I'll be teaching an investing and technical analysis high school level economics course. Everyone should know the basics of chart reading, yet I've never seen it taught at any school. We will cover everything from trends, price action, Fibonacci, pitchforks, and more. This is a hands on class in which students will learn on a demo trading account. There is a difference between commenting and having conversations. That is why our class sizes are twelve students or less. The average class of thirty sees little in the way of participation because few students want to participate with a class that size. In a large class all you can do is make comments, but with a small group students open up and are able to have actual conversations that facilitate deeper learning. I put together a Hush Hush type lecture on the early life of Herbert Hoover that features in my U.S. history class. In this video I cover Hoover's early life as a fake mining engineer that wrote fake reports to prop up mining stock and fleece the public. I also cover his double dealing with china where he steals a coal mine and gets the British government to protect his ill gotten gains. Lastly, as a businessman he viewed insurance money to the family of dead miners to be cheaper than buying timber to reinforce his shafts.

Bible/public speaking- The Word- The foundations of Genesis
Geometry (Full or half year option).
Students will learn about the idea of God and the patterns of creation in the book of Genesis. The patterns recur throughout our daily lives and provide a framework for interpreting the world around us. Having this background will improve critical thinking and problem solving skill sets. In addition, there will be a focus on public speaking. Creation occurs via the Word after all. Jackson's entire re-election bid was stacked on this event. It shows what can happen when people stand up to corrupt institutions, and in this lecture I also show the lengths these institutions will go to save themselves and the pain and suffering they are willing to cause to achieve their aims.

Is your teen an introvert that does not like being in a large school setting? If so, you might be a great fit for the small class sizes of Athena Hybrid Academy. I chair a constitutional rights organization which has me making many public speeches, but at heart, I'm a nerdy introvert that would have excelled in the hybrid high school model that presents the sort of academic challenges introverts need to feel engaged while eliminating some of the large scale social situations that can detract from learning. While some students only go to school for socializing, many introverts feel overwhelmed by the sheer size of public high schools, face bullying issues, or feel the pace of learning is too slow and become bored and disengaged. Athena's hybrid model includes two days of in person class time for discussion, interaction, and peer socialization. The other three days are for home based learning that can be done on your own schedule. Beyond that, large schools don't actually properly socialize your children. The goal of socialization is to make your child the sort of person other people want to work with, compete with, play with etc. Our school while small in terms of numbers, actually does more to make your student the type of person that others will want to open doors for in the future.

At AHA, students meet 2 days/week where they will receive full academic instruction in the humanities, math, and science and will be given independent homework for the other 2 at home days. Fridays are usually a day off or available for private tutoring.
