Day 12 Fasting From News and Seeking God 8/21/24
The Great Deceiver of Authoritarianism and Totalitarianism
The Romans during the time of Jesus ministry thought they were in control, but they were only marking their time in history of being a useful part of God’s ultimate plan of the death and resurrection of Jesus. The Resurrection began a movement that still exists long after the Roman government has passed. Their pride of thinking they were the supreme authority (just like lucifer) was ultimately their own destruction.
1Sa 15:23 “Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So, because you have rejected the command of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”
I have heard and observed this scripture being misused as a means to control with selfish intent. This has even been manifested as the false doctrines like “shepardship” which requires families of their church to get permission from elders to miss church, even when taking a vacation. The “shepardship” doctrine is used when a leader fears losing control much like Saul. In I Samuel 15 we see Samuel rebuking Saul, the narcist, who was jealous of David, the shepherd boy, and fearful of losing control of his people.
There are two other influential false doctrines similar to this today called “dominion doctrine of theology, and/or New Apostolic Reformation. They enslave people and refocus who is king in their lives. Any doctrine used to control the will of man with fear and intimidation a “doctrine of men” as described by Paul is man made.
God gave each of us a free-will for use as individuals to discipline ourselves. This free-will is why we are answerable and responsible for our own behavior. We cannot make, force, or harass others to become Christians like Constantine did. God gave us a free- will so we can properly operate in the Body of Christ. If we lose our free-will we become door mats to evil.
The doctrines of men described in Mark 7: 7&8 have been with us throughout history and tend to repeat themselves. Signs of these of these doctrines are controlling/authoritarianism with the same main theme as Lucifer himself. He tempted Jesus with the third temptation described in Matthew 4:8,9, &10 as power and control. These doctrines defy any type of integrity, accountability, or transparency.
The non-Christian community usually is alienated from Christ when Christians push or force their values on everyone else by the laws or doctrines of men. Trusting in the “God of Politics” instead of the God of the Bible only complicates and confuses the Christian believers. God will not allow other idols in our lives.
Jesus in His Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5,6, &,7 did not take sides and enter the political conflict which brings division to the four pillars of a society: churches, families, education, and government. This diminishes the presentation of the Gospel. Jesus gave us the two greatest commands to “Love God with all our heart (soul) and Love our Neighbor as ourselves. When a believer puts confidence in government to reform society, they overlook the fact that it is through the church (body of Christ) that the enemy of God is fought.
I am blessed when I can talk to my savoir when trials come. I am also blessed by knowing I can go to you, the Body of Christ, for prayer. The Body of Christ strengthens me when the trials come. Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. I have had the privilege of observing this sacred act by many of you. Thanks
Followers of Jesus as described in the sermon on the Mount cannot get caught up the rebellion and violence of the culture today. Political action that requires us to demean and slander, no matter who is their opposition should not be practiced among true believers. The power of God is much stronger than the cunning of man. We can tell truth without demeaning God’s images. I have ministered to people with life controlling problems for over 40 years. I have never seen anyone set free (overcome) by any secular program that does not acknowledge God as supreme along with His Word and Spirit as essentials to living.
What Political strategist teach?
I have set in political strategist meetings unwittingly. Political strategists teach their people to do whatever it takes to make the electorate EMOTE. Emote means to call people to not question but to act merely on emotions. Lying and deceiving are encouraged because they believe “the ends justify the means.” Shading truth and deceiving is considered okay as long as the “End Justifies the Means.”
Believers do not need to attack the “hot button” topics but rather present the gospel message and promote heart change, it works. A heart change will change the four structures of our society. It has always been God’s plan that we work together as the Body of Christ to bring about a change. We will never change this world until we change the hearts of men toward each other and God. Over the years I have had the privilege of working with Godly government leaders and politicians. It is a struggle for them to maintain integrity when cunning and self-serving people surround them. I admire those who maintain their integrity and fortitude even when their own Christian brothers and sisters turn on them.
The church has a distinctive nature and function in the world unrelated to politics. However, many are being led astray by the God of politics. Our loyalty is to King Jesus first, earthly government or institutions are secondary. Believers should not be anti-government, but neither are we proud of government in such a way that we find security in politics vs security in Christ. Our Lord was not a political Messiah as has been made of many government leaders. God’s kingdom is the only kingdom that will endure. Governments, churches, education, and families come and go but God remains an energized force.
All People Should Be Held Accountable, but especially the Household of Faith, the Body of Christ.
Until all people’s (our, us, me, you) basic egocentricity (self – interest) is radically exposed and foundationally redirected, most Christians becomes occupied with rearranging doctrines of men that caters to the ego (Paul calls it flesh, our modern-day term is ego). This ideology to protect the ego has never worked in history because it is contrary to God’s plan, “I must decrease that He must increase.” The question is, Who is in control? Is man the measure of all things or is God the measure of All Things?
Typically, the underbelly of all false doctrine is the attitude of Satan himself. The ideal that man is in control. This ideal is exposed in Isaiah 14:10 when Satan (Lucifer) was removed from heaven because of his desire to be equal with God. Authoritarianism has never worked throughout history and never will. God created us to be a part of the body of Christ which requires transparency, openness to change, integrity in all matters and accountability. It is the only way the Body of Christ can work together.
Isa 14:10 With well-prepared speeches, royal invitations to death: "Now you are as nothing as we are! Make yourselves at home with us dead folks!"
Isa 14:11 Thy pomp (pride and arrogancy) has led you, Lucifer, to your underworld private chambers, A king-size mattress of maggots for repose and a quilt of crawling worms for warmth.
Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, O Babylon! Daystar! Son of Dawn! Flat on your face in the underworld mud, you, famous for weakening nations!
Isa 14:13 You thou hast said to yourself, "I'll ascend into heaven. I will set my throne over the stars of God. I will run the assembly of angels that meets on sacred Mount Zaphon (mount of congregation).
Isa 14:14 I'll climb to the top of the clouds. I'll take over as King of the Universe!"
Col 2:20 If ye died with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, do ye subject yourselves to ordinances,
Col 2:21 Handle not, nor taste, nor touch
Col 2:22 (all which things are to perish with the using), after the precepts and doctrines of men?
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and severity to the body; but are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
