Senior High School students from St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc., conclude its virtual Cultural Exchange with Winslow Junior High School via Google Meet.
Students from SMCTI shared their presentations on the essence of the Bayanihan culture presented by Nofa Dela Gente as well as the influence of American culture in the Philippines presented by Sophia Perion.
Also, students from Winslow asked about the daily lives of Filipinos, particularly of students. To which the students of both schools shared a conversation on the daily routine of students, sports, and even food.
Additionally, the conversation delved into the pre-colonial Philippines. Students from Winslow asked the Marians about the vast possibilities of what the Philippines could have been if colonization had not happened.
Lastly, the talk ended successfully with Marians happily sharing their thoughts, insights, and experiences. The cultural exchange talk has reached its goal of deepening the understanding and connection of each culture and tradition and hopes to set another conversation to further dive into the diverse culture of each country.

On December 6, 2024, St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. celebrated the Holy Mass for the first Friday of December. With the theme, โThe Light of the World,โ the mass was full of lessons; reminding us to pray and have faith.
The celebration was led by Rev. Fr. Marlon L. Pates, DCT, who shared in his Homily the importance of believing in God and to strengthen our faith through prayers. He emphasized that some of us experience spiritual blindness, and asked that we let the Lord open our eyes to faith.
"We might have the sight, but we donโt have the vision," he said.
This Homily is a reminder to always believe in God and to connect with Him through prayers. It is also a reminder that some are spiritually blinded and that we should seek to help them open their hearts to God.
Additionally, Fr. Marlon also led the commissioning of the Sacristans, Lilies of the Altar, and the Lectors-- praying for them to continue in strengthening their faith, continue to serve the Lord, and become good examples to the community.
Lastly, the Seminarians from the Queen of Apostles College Seminary (QACS), performed songs, igniting the Christmas spirit within the Ignacian-Marians and in the institution.

In observance of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) has announced that there will be no classes at all levels and no office transactions on Monday, December 9, following the announcement of the rescheduled date for the solemn event, which is traditionally celebrated on December 8.
This shift in date follows the Liturgical Calendar, which states that if a solemnity coincides with a Sunday of Advent, the Sunday of Advent takes precedence. Consequently, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception has been moved to the following day.
Catholic schools and institutions, including SMCTI, are expected to observe this change, providing students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to reflect and participate in the day's spiritual observances without academic or administrative interruptions.
Additionally, classes and office transactions will resume on Tuesday, December 10.
SMCTI appreciates the community's understanding and cooperation in honoring this significant religious event.

St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. spends the whole month of October in solitude to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she provides the Church through praying the Holy Rosary.
The Church celebrates the Marian advocation of "Our Lady of the Rosary" on October 7. The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary was introduced by Pope St. Pius in the year 1571 to commemorate the miraculous victory of the Christian forces in the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. To this day, the Church continues to encourage all Catholics to devote and pray for the Blessed Virgin Mary during October every year.
Join the serenity as we celebrate and honor the protection of Mother Mary showing our devotion as Ignacian-Marians.
