Year after year I am humbled by the generosity of others and their willingness and want to give.

Each year my room-parents organize a class gift and each year I ask that any funds collected be donated to our local foodbank.

Thankful for this gift of true giving.
Grateful for the community of learners and families I grow with each year.

Boas Festas to all

Our Read & Write Across Reynolds Literacy Committee organized and hosted local author Charnaie Gordon for our Kindergarten and First Graders.

Ms. Gordon brought the character "Etta Extraordinaire" to life in a beautiful reading to our students. Etta is a child who overcomes stage fright and shines in her extraordinary uniqueness.

We cannot wait to see what Etta does next! Thank you for inspiring our young readers and writers Charmaine Gordon.

Thank you to our Anna Reynolds PTO for purchasing this welcome addition to our classroom libraries.

The first 20 days of school have been fast, chaotic, AND wonderful.

My favorite night of the year is Open House. Our school changed the format to a meet and greet with families flowing throughout our new spaces connecting with every staff member in the building. The flexibility of it resulted in record turnout and a positive vibe felt by all!

And what I loved most was the former firsties coming back to visit.

These nuggets and their families are forever a part of mine.

The Connecticut Education Association (CEA) celebrated 175 years of service in its first Gala Fundraiser.

Recipients of CEA Educator Champion Awards provided inspiration:

State Representative Jeff Currey, “if you (educators) aren’t in the room there is no room.”

State Representative Kathleen McCarty, “Education has to be bipartisan.”

Congratulations to them as well as our own Hartford County Board Member Katie Grant, as well as Retired CEA & NEA president Bob Chase, and an Ally, Superintendent Dr. Freeman.

It was a lovely evening meeting union representation from across the state and reunions with Teachers of the Year.

“I hear teachers say, ‘I don’t talk politics.’ I hope you are engaged in policy.” At the Empowered to Lead Symposium Rep Jahana Hayes gave a call to action. I am heeding that call.

It is not about politics, it is about policy. No matter what side of the isle our representatives sit, I back policy makers who support educators and the children/families we learn with.

Enjoyed canvassing with you today Amy Perrotti for Newington BOE.

Got some steps in today with Jennifer Rodriguez, Teacher of the Year - Newington 2022-2023! Jennifer knows that education is on the ballot this year and she joined me today to share her story and show her support for the Democratic slate. We promise to support teachers like Jen and protect Newington Public Schools from the national rhetoric that is trying to make its way into our town.

Thank you for your support!
