Compassionate and mindful yoga for everybody.

Simone Biles was already an Olympic champion—the GOAT of women’s gymnastics.

Now she’s accomplished a bigger victory—championing mental illness. Today, Simone withdrew from competition, citing mental health struggles.

Do you see what she just modeled? For all of us?

She honored her whole, entire self.

She reminded the world that we are not just physical bodies that should be pushed beyond the brink. We are emotional, mental, and spiritual human beings—and wellness extends to all parts.

Simone just gave every one of us permission to make choices that honor our mental health. Because even the champions among us need to step back now and again.

I have never cheered harder for an Olympic moment. Extraordinary courage.

Thank you, Simone. 🤍

But sometimes also, without anything being done, things change and become better. There is a natural process of growth, of maturing and transforming in the psyche. There are such situations where one has to wait, and noninterference is the healing factor.

There is a lovely idea in the Celtic tradition that if you send out goodness from yourself, or if you share that which is happy or good within you, it will all come back to you multiplied ten thousand times. In the kingdom of love there is no competition, there is no possessiveness or control. The more love you give away, the more love you will have.

I am no longer waiting for a special occasion; I burn the best candles on ordinary days.
I am no longer waiting for the house to be clean; I fill it with people who understand that even dust is Sacred.
I am no longer waiting for everyone to understand me; It’s just not their task
I am no longer waiting for the perfect children; my children have their own names that burn as brightly as any star.
I am no longer waiting for the other shoe to drop; It already did, and I survived.
I am no longer waiting for the time to be right; the time is always now.
I am no longer waiting for the mate who will complete me; I am grateful to be so warmly, tenderly held.
I am no longer waiting for a quiet moment; my heart can be stilled whenever it is called.
I am no longer waiting for the world to be at peace; I unclench my grasp and breathe peace in and out.
I am no longer waiting to do something great; being awake to carry my grain of sand is enough.
I am no longer waiting to be recognized; I know that I dance in a holy circle.
I am no longer waiting for Forgiveness.
I believe, I Believe.

Full Pink Moon Blessings!
Full Supermoon in Libra on April 7th will be the biggest and brightest moon of 2020. Libra is associated with balance and harmony, and is ruled by Venus, planet of Love and Beauty. While the Full Moon brings on the surface heightened feelings and emotional intensity, Libra Moon encourages the sacred balance in relationships with everything around us. She teaches us that equilibrium is always possible (even between opposites) when we mindfully build relationships from the place of Love.

The art of balancing includes finding our inner peace by being true to ourselves, establishing harmonious relationships with others and practicing a sacred reciprocity with all it is, including the Mother Earth.

Through Love, reverence and respect we can restore balance on individual, collective and planetary levels, and bring stability and beauty to ourselves, to others, to community, and to the world. So, let’s use this time of great uncertainty as an opportunity for transformation and weaving a new tapestry of our reality.

The name for this Full Moon came from the pink wild ground phlox, the first blooming flowers in early spring. It was also called as the Egg Moon or the Fish Moon. As usual, I bring you the April Full Moon names from several Native American tribes:
Abenaki - Sugar Maker Moon
Algonquin - When They Set Indian Corn
Anishnaabe (Chippewa, Ojibwe) - Broken Snowshow Moon
Apache- Moon of the Big Leaves
Arapaho - Ice Breaking in the River
Assiniboine - Frog Moon
Cherokee - Flower Moon
Cheyenne - When the Geese Lay Eggs
Choctaw - Moon of Blackberry
Comanche - New Spring Moon
Cree - Gray Goose Moon
Creek - Big Spring Moon
Haida - Migratory Geese Moon
Hopi - Moon of Windbreak
Kalapuya - Time for Pounding Camas
Lakota - Moon When the Wife Had to Crack Bones for Marrow Fat
Mandan-Hidatsa - Moon of the Breaking up of the Ice
Mohawk - Budding Time
Navajo - Big Plant
Passamaquoddy - Spring Moon
Shawnee - Strawberry Moon
Shoshone - Melting Moon
Sioux - Red Grass Appearing
Tlingit - Budding Moon of Plants and Shrubs
Winnebago - Planting Corn Moon
Wishram - The 8th Moon
Zuni - Great Sand Storm

This might be helpful. Although I know there is so much of this stuff out there at the moment....

In family therapy, we would often start with getting a family to describe how they would like things to look. So - when this virus crisis is over - what would you like your children to remember?
What would you like them to say about 2020?
That you grew closer?
That you learned so much more about each other?
That you finally had time to get beyond just rushing about and coping.
That they got to know you more as a human being, and not just a mum or dad?
That they saw how well you and your partner cared for each other, and were tolerant and kind ?
How do you want your family to remember 2020? Let us know - and what you are doing to make it that way?
(NB applies equally to single parent families and same s*x parents)
