Tinker Tailors facilitate bespoke fashion and design workshops, children’s parties & after-school clubs. Workshops are for all ages who love fashion and design and who dream of seeing their creations brought to life. Tinker Tailors has been created and is facilitated by Bernie Carlin and Beth McComish. Two young mothers with 20 years of living and breathing fashion, design and illustration. Bernie
has a BA Hons degree in Fashion and Textiles from Ulster University and Beth has a BA Hons degree in Design from Central St Martins, London. Bernie and Beth brought Tinker Tailors to life to enable all ages to explore the world of fashion and design; share traditional sewing and textile techniques and provide oodles and oodles of inspiration to little hands bursting to bring their imagination to life. Budding designers can look forward to having fun exploring a multitude of materials, mediums and tools; learning skills and techniques they can nurture and take with them for life. Tinker Tailors also explores the world of fashion; its history, the industry, trends and encouraging the creation of new ones! Tinker Tailors after-school clubs inspire and encourage sketchbook diaries, drawing like a fashion designer and the creation of mood boards. The clubs provide a platform to gain a practical understanding of how designing and making works and how much fun can be had! All materials are inclusive, all that is needed is imagination and eagerness to learn and have fun together! Some club activities:
Itching to stitch - simple hand stitching and embroidery
Fun with fabric - Felting; applique; tie dying
Love your sketchbook - capturing inspiration, personal fashion diaries
Draw like a fashion designer
Up cycling and recycling
