Pre-Conference Workshop on Khokhloma- 3 p.m.
Opening Reception (a meal and a Program, provided with the registration) - 6:00 p.m.

Sessions and panels- 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Awards Luncheon (included with the registration) - 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Make Plans to Attend a Pre-Conference Workshop

"Everyday Khokhloma"
Presented by Ekaterina Sutton, University of Missouri

The Khokhloma workshop will introduce a brief history of this type of Russian folk painting technique followed by a lesson explaining the basic elements and patterns. The participants will have a chance to make their own khokhloma painting and will receive helpful tips on how to develop the skills that can be employed during lessons of Russian culture, or at home for decorations and gift making.
Supplies for the project’s activities will be provided.

Workshop fee: $10.00 per person

“The National World War I Museum and Memorial is America's museum dedicated to remembering, interpreting and understanding the Great War and its enduring impact on the global community.” -- Mission Statement

The group will meet for a brief introduction at 12:15 in the Registration area. The shuttle will be leaving promptly at 12:30 from the hotel’s main entrance.


Deadline for signing up for the tour is March 18, 2016. A count is required by this time to secure tickets in advance; otherwise, we could encounter waiting lines that would delay our tour.
