The "Southern Lily" arrived in Samoa this evening Tuesday 14th February 2017. It has our container of equipment for the HTYN Studio located within the grounds of Samoa College in the village of Vaivase, Apia. Keu will arrive from New Zealand to carry out the fit-out. Lole Lolesio is here in Samoa on fasmily matters but is offering to assist as well. Rally pleased about this. Getting closer to fitting out the studio and getting started.. excitement is building about fillng these spaces with equipment and then filling these spaces with learners....

Some photos from yesterday's groundbreaking ceremony which took place next door to our HTYN Studio here at Vaivase,Samoa. This is where the submarine cable will land + the construction of the data centre etc. Three buildings are to be erected next to our studio. Hosted by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, the Ministry used our studio to deliver the ceremony due to inclement weather, giving stakeholders a preview of the Activity. The keynote speaker was the Deputy Prime Minister Hon Fiame Naomi Mataafa. Three Cabinet Ministers present included the Minister of Communications & Information Technology Hon Afamasaga Rico Tupai, the Minister of Education, Sports & Culture Hon Loau Solamalemalo Keneti Sio and Minister of Women, Community & Social Development Hon Faimalotoa Kika Stowers - all partner Ministries to our HTYN Samoa Activity. Also present were the newly appointed NZ High Commissioner to Samoa His Excellency David Nicholson and NZ Deputy High Commissioner Mr Mike Walsh. The HTYN Samoa Activity is funded by the Government of New Zealand. It was noted that the event took place on New Zealand's national day Waitangi Day
