📢 WE ARE RECRUITING – LIVESTOCK & FARM SUPERVISOR (VANUATU CITIZENS ONLY) (Sanma Province, private island)

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Livestock & Educational Farm Supervisor to manage horses and a small mixed farm including sheep, ducks, chickens, goats, pigs, and vegetable production, within a private island / 4-star hotel environment.
This role is ideal for someone hands-on, versatile, and passionate about farming, animals, and working in a remote and unique setting.
🔹 Main Responsibilities
* Daily care, feeding, and monitoring of all livestock
* Ensure animal health, welfare, and biosecurity
* Administer basic veterinary treatments and follow treatment plans
* Manage livestock movements, paddocks, and rotations
* Horse care: feeding, health monitoring, stable management, basic handling
* Assist with vegetable production: planting, maintenance, harvesting
* Operate farm machinery (tractor, implements)
* Perform basic tractor and equipment maintenance
* Maintain clean, safe, and functional farm facilities
* Keep basic farm records (livestock, treatments, feed, movements)
* Assist in general farm work as required
* Support educational and farm-experience activities for guests when needed
* Interact respectfully and professionally with international hotel guests
* Work independently in a remote environment with limited supervision
🔹 Profile We Are Looking For
* Ni-Vanuatu citizen (position reserved for citizens only)
* Serious, honest, and motivated
* Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor farm work
* Able to live and work on a remote private island
* Comfortable working around foreign guests and hotel standards
* Basic English required (communication with clients and team)
* Tractor driving experience required
* Farming / livestock experience strongly preferred
* Ability to work alone, take initiative, and adapt
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic

CLARA Ltd, a private company, is seeking a Research & Development Officer to be based in Santo, Vanuatu, to support its production team.

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Plant Selection & Characterization – Identifying and assessing plant varieties for quality and performance while maintaining the company’s plant collection.
✅ Agronomic Field Trials – Designing and conducting trials to optimize cultivation practices and improve productivity.
✅ Pest & Disease Management – Monitoring crops and developing effective protection strategies.
✅ Data Collection & Analysis – Recording, managing, and interpreting field data to guide research outcomes.
✅ Partnership Coordination – Ensuring compliance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with research and industry partners.

Ideal Candidate:
✔ Background in agriculture, agronomy, plant sciences, or a related field.
✔ Experience in plant research, field trials, data analysis, and pest & disease management.
✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
✔ Ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders.
✔ Willingness to work in the field and support the production team.
✔ Willing to be based in Santo, Vanuatu, in a remote area.
✔ Understanding of Vanuatu’s culture and context.
✔ Proficiency in Bislama and English is required.
✔ Position open to Ni-Vanuatu citizens only.

💰 Salary: Based on educational background, skills, past work experience, and motivation.
📜 Contract: Long-term position with no fixed end date, including performance-based bonuses.
