Play is seen as the vehicle for children's learning. Our Stay & Play playgroup at EtonHouse, runs every Tuesday, offering endless opportunities for children from 6 months to 2.5 years to investigate their world through the 'Hundred Languages of Children'. Intentionally designed with sensory, social and physical explorations, our programme is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to learning and teaching. In our playgroup setting, parents have the opportunity to meet other parents and observe learning through open-ended inquiry. 🌻 Reggio Emilia approach - Developing a collaborative mindset🌻

In the Reggio Emilia approach, children are most often seen as collaborating with teachers and peers to engage in projects and tasks. Between the ages of 2-6 years old, cooperation is still a skill that is under construction as children are developing their social and emotional competencies. Therefore, the Reggio Emilia approach supports children to work with others whilst forming a sense of self; how to express themselves and regulate their emotions.

In the classroom at EtonHouse, our children are constantly captured working and problem-solving together as they make daily discoveries to extend their learning. Their time spent at school in an environment that fosters inquiry and agency, allows them to be confident in decision-making and become articulate communicators.

When children enter a classroom inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, the environment is set up to allow them to draw, mix colors, paint, markmake and create their own work unsolicited and free from adult agenda. Children are able to touch and experience materials without limitations, exploring ‘art’ through their own lens. At EtonHouse, the children’s “Language of Art” may be developed in more than one area of the school, both indoors and outdoors, allowing them to become proficient in their abilities.

Hầu hết khi các bé bước vào 1 lớp học theo phương pháp Reggio Emilia, các bé sẽ có những không gian để tự do vẽ, tự do phối màu sắc, tự do sáng tạo những bức vẽ, hình thù theo suy nghĩ của bản thân, các bé sẽ được chạm, sờ, vui chơi mà không có ranh giới hạn chế. Đừng nhìn trẻ dưới lăng kính của người lớn mà hãy để trẻ tự do khám phá nghệ thuật bởi chính lăng kính của bản thân. Tại EtonHouse, các bé có thể phát huy khả năng nghệ thuật của mình ở bất cứ đâu, có thể là trong lớp học, hay cũng có thể là lúc vui chơi ở ngoài sân, điều này sẽ giúp kích thích trẻ sử dụng thông thạo nhiều loại ngôn ngữ nghệ thuật như Ann Pelo đã nói.

With modern development and a fast-paced world, our children are gaining access to technology earlier and earlier, a source of information at their fingertips. On the flip side, lies the conundrum of less time spent and exposure to explore nature.

Light and color are two things that attract children between the ages of 0 and 6, helping them develop their imagination and creativity. At EtonHouse, school always focuses on developing children's imagination and artistic thinking, our classrooms are equipped with a light desk, a learning tool designed according to the Reggio Emilia approach.

With the help of white light and contrast effects, the light table offers many interesting experiences and discoveries. Light will help children see objects more clearly and through a different perspective. On the light table, children will demonstrate a unique perception of the world by combining different materials, shapes, colors, techniques.

Ánh sáng và màu sắc là 2 thứ thu hút các bé trong độ tuổi từ 0-6, giúp các bé phát triển trí tưởng tượng, sáng tạo. Tại EtonHouse, trường luôn chú trọng về phát triển trí tưởng tượng và tư duy nghệ thuật cho bé, tại các lớp học các bé được trang bị bàn ánh sáng, một học cụ thiết kế theo phương pháp Reggio Emilia.

This past Saturday, we spent a meaningful morning together at EtonHouse E-maison International Pre-School celebrating the Moon Festival. Children explored many areas of creations and Vietnamese traditional festivities, creating memories associated with the rich culture of Vietnam, their host country. It was wonderful to see so many faces, both old and new enjoying the festivities with the return of our celebration after 2 years.

1. Dr. Jane Shadwell-Li
Dr. Jane graduated from her native New York’s Stony Brook Medical School, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island’s North Shore University Hospital. She worked for two years at an outpatient clinic in Washington D.C. before arriving in Vietnam in the year 2000. She joined the team at Family Medical Practice in 2002, while simultaneously serving on the U.S. Consulate’s health units, and now exclusively practices at FMP. One of the longest-serving members of FMP’s Internal Medicine Department, Dr. Jane manages a broad spectrum of patient diseases, ailments and conditions, with special interest in Dermatology and Infectious Disease. After 20 years of practicing medicine, she is truly an expert in her field, and is frequently called upon to present health talks on a wide range of issues like health screenings, breast cancer, occupational health, skin cancer and most recently, Covid-19 safety protocols.

2. Dr. Serge Gradstein
A French native with over three decades of experience in medicine, Dr. Serge Gradstein received his Doctorate from Rene Descartes University Paris 5, and completed his professional residency in Pediatrics at Israel’s Kaplan University, where he functioned as their Senior Pediatrician for two years.

Switching gears, he initiated a residency in Infectious Disease at Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva, the largest city in southern Israel, where his focus was caring for patients suffering from rare tropical diseases and other less common infections. He then moved back to Kaplan, where he divided his time between his Pediatrics and Infectious Disease practices, working in the hospital’s HIV ward, and treating both adults and children suffering from HIV and AIDS.

In January of 2012, Dr. Serge joined the team Family Medical Practice where he now serves in the D2 Medical Center as Medical Director and Head of Pediatrics, and continues his life’s work of treating children.
