Our last featured director for this week is John Michael, who, along with classmate Sophie, wrote "All in the Family."
Why did you write this show? "I enjoy writing and thought this would be a way to showcase that."
What is the hardest thing about directing? "Being organized and in control of the cast."
What is your show about? "A very dysfunctional family and the hardships they face."
Why should everyone come to see the one-acts? "They are funny and everyone has put a lot of work and time into them."
Enjoy a night out at the Ursuline theatre this Saturday at 7pm. Please bring a canned good to be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.
Our featured director today is Larry Skiver, whom with his sister, Sarah, wrote the one-act, "Don Quixote."
Why did you write this one-act?
"I wanted to write a one-act my senior year. I was inspired by the reading of "Don Quixote" we did in Spanish last year.
What is the hardest part of directing? "Trying to control everyone and getting things how you want."
What is your play about?
"A 17th century Spanish man reads books about medieval Knights. He becomes dissatisfied with his life, and with his neighbor, Sancho, goes out on adventures."
Why should people come to the one-act festival this Saturday? "Everyone put in so much work. They should go to appreciate what can be done by students."
Your chance to see "Don Quixote" is this Saturday at 7pm! Don't miss it!
You are invited to An Evening of Student-Directed One Acts, Saturday October 8, 7:00. Tickets are $1.00 and please bring canned good donations for Second Harvest Food Bank.
Today we feature Elsie, writer and director of "Class Act."
Why did you write a one-act this year? "I wanted to give people an idea of what theatre life is like in a comedic way."
What is the hardest part of directing? "Management of time because you have limited time to finish the show and blocking."
What is your show about? "All the things that happen during the rehearsal of a show and all the things that could go wrong."
Why should people see the one-acts this weekend? "Everyone has worked hard. This is an experience you won't find anywhere else. The one-acts are great!"
Support Elsie and the other fine directors this Saturday at 7pm for the annual One-Act festival!
Today's featured directors are Carmella & Travis, creators of "Framed".
Why did you write a one-act?
"It's just something we wanted to do for Mrs.Williams."
What is the most difficult part of directing?
Carmella:"Relaying ideas to actors and how to portray the roles."
Travis: "Dealing with people."
What is your play about?
Carmella:"A kid gets locked in a theatre and characters from different shows come to life and they go through a lot of ups and downs."
Travis: "It's a family community theme. At the end of the show it's like kumbaya all over again."
Why should people come to see the one-acts?
Carmella:"We have put in a lot hard work and dedication."
Travis:"Not every show we get to do is written by students. It's cool to see the other side of people that you don't get to see in school."
Be sure to come to the one-acts this Saturday at 7pm to see "Framed" and the other great shows the students have created.

What is the story of your one-act? "It follows the story of a couple spending a weekend away at a big, ugly hotel and the surprises they face."
Why should people come to see the one-acts? "They are all really good and we have put a lot of work into them. We wrote them ourselves and want to share them with people."
