IoT Workshop Today
I'd like to invite you all to sign up for a free hands-on workshop on Jan 23rd from 1pm-5pm or Jan 30th 1pm-5pm about the Internet of Things that YSU is presenting in cooperation with Youngstown Business Incubator and Cisco. Additionally, students who attend will get a FREE Raspberry Pi 3B+ to keep. These workshops will give you some experience working with some of the base fundamentals of IoT development. Specifically, how to connect sensors (Light, Magnetism, Sound, etc.) and actuators (LEDs, Motors, Servos, etc.) to the Raspberry Pi and how to interact with them through basic programming skills. Additionally, we'll be covering Blockchain, and teaching you how to get started with Ethereum as a way to facilitate information sharing between multiple IoT devices.

Note: these events are free, but require pre-registration since there is limited availability.

Additionally, OH-IoT is sponsoring the YSU-YPH Hack-a-thon on February 22nd, where the top 10 teams with IoT submissions will be entered into a 2nd round, consisting of a Shark-Tank like competition with local business leaders. These local business leaders will be awarding a $20,000 prize pool to the best team(s)' IoT project(s) and proposed business pitch(es).

Hope to see you there.
