We are aligning ourselves with the public schools here in Virginia will and reevaluate things after 9 weeks, once more information is made available.
In other news, our End of the Summer showcase has been postponed to Saturday, September 26th at 11:00am. If you would like to participate, you need to take the initiative and let me know! At the end of our showcase, we will once again have Angelina Gandolfo, violinist from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, who will be giving our students a brief presentation of music history. You DO NOT want to miss this!

Would you look at that! I’m famous ya’ll! Well ok - not really, but it is pretty neat that Williamsburg’s Next Door Neighbor Magazine featured me as one of their local artists. Take a look see. 👀 I’m all the way in the back. (I think that’s a good thing?) 🤔
...Finally finished the “Stay on the beat challenge” for both piano and guitar. (PHEW!)
After teaching for over 15 years, I've become quite aware that there are few ways to make technique and rhythm exercises exciting for young students. Well here's my attempt and changing all that 😁.
These are fun challenges designed to help students with their reading, fingering technique, and rhythm all while playing along with guitars, bass, and whatever else I decided to goof around with. Enjoy!
These are 4 technical guitar exercises that will help you with your reading, technical, and rhythmic development. Alternate picking is preferred and remember...

Eek! We desperately need volunteers!
Starting in March, our next round of kids ukulele classes in Virginia Beach and Williamsburg begin. As you’d expect, teaching a class of 35+ kids, all armed with ukuleles, can be quite an undertaking for just one dude.
If you like to have fun, know your basic colors, can count to 4, and have at least 3 working fingers on your left hand, you’d be perfect as one of our ukuleers. 😀
If interested, let me know ASAP. Thanks!!
The FourFingerFrenzy WILLIAMSBURG class is NOW ENROLLING! To register, call the WRL @ (757)259.4055 or stop by the children's desk to be put on the roster. The class is free for students ages 9-15 and we have extra ukuleles for your kiddos to use during class. It is a full 9-week course and space is extremely limited, so we ask that you register if you fully intend on completing the course. We're also looking for volunteers to help with class management, so if you are an educator or if you know your way around a ukulele, we could really use your gifts. Thank you and we hope to see you all there!
[01/16/20] To our private students: If you have not received our email we sent out earlier this month regarding our updated studio policies, I have it posted in our waiting area. Be sure to give it a look while you are here. Thank you! - Mr. Wes

To our students:
There is POWER in the words you speak. Words can either ENABLE your success or SECURE your defeat so choose your words carefully. When you’re having difficulty with a particular section, instead of saying, “This is soooo hard”, say, “It may take some time, but I’ll figure it out”.
Hang in there peeps. YOU GOT THIS! - Mr. Wes.
