The only thing I wished was that this issue was longer! Way to get into people's stories! We are all people with a story, personality, and emotions, not just numbers and statistics.

Stand up for michael kelley. You the students have a voice. Use your voice to do what is right. Lay your varsity letter coat in front of your principles office. Standing up for a fellow student is greater then ever playing a varsity sport.

As journalists, you can make a difference. Call for Thiessen's removal and/or an atmosphere of diversity, inclusion, and anti-bullying.

Mmmmkayyy, using this reasoning, are you also going to prohibit the students from wearing any branded clothing items? After all, they aren't actually on staff at Nike, Izod, Aeropostale or Abercrombie and Fitch. While we are at it there should probably be a ban on any theme type apparel, too. People aren't actually video game characters, or super heroes or in Star Fleet. Sheesh, dude, a**l much? In an age where bullying is a rampant epidemic does it really make sense for a Principal to pick on a special needs kid for what he is wearing? Shame on you.

Dear Wichita High School East,
I'm disgusted with your act toward a Down Syndrome and autism student " Michael " to have him remove his letter and how dare you to be listening to other parents and students for judging this student Michael . Tell me again , " What's is soooooooooooooo wrong with other student supporting their basketball team and what happen to your pride towards your school with judgement free zone? " This former athletic teacher should shut up and judge on his own time specially this poor student Michael.
Those who judge others , should NOT be recognize by the community or the school officials since they only creates an issue.

I personally don't think you are fit the job as a principal ! You should step down from your duties since this is very serious action that you have taken and believe me when i say you are labeled as a " Disability hater ".
Stop been so stubborn because you can't see outside the box , you only know what's best for you and keep the parents happy just to get them outta your hair.
I know how stressful it can be but you know in your heart it is WRONG and this should NOT have gone to news media.

An upcoming issue of The Messenger will feature an article discussing students currently living in the Wichita Children's Home. When do you think it is ok for the government to take a child from his or her home and place the child in temporary housing? Should the child be allowed to have any say in this? (Responses may be put into The Messenger!)
