The music of Gerdan is diverse, energetic and charming, bringing the fire and the edge of new melodic ideas and rhythms that capture the listener. Musicians’ commitment to professionalism and virtuosity in performance of the authentic folk music roots is convergent to the new developing life of a multicultural society. The concert program of Gerdan features contrasting musical styles (folk, classical, jazz, tango) in traditions of Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Traditional songs and tunes get vivacious original arrangements in fascinating combination of voice and acoustic instruments violin, piano and exotic ethnic flutes. Exceptional musicians, skilled, experienced, and dedicated to the sonic nurture of music art, reveal their passion for the modalities and rhythmic colorations that define Ukrainian music.

Dear Friends of CMOTH,

It has been awhile since you've heard from us, and we hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well during this time.

Like many other artistic groups both locally and nationally, we have had to make some difficult choices regarding present and future operations. We are a non-profit group that depends on ticket sales and donations from generous benefactors like you to keep operating. But the global pandemic is still a real and present danger, and the safety of our performers and our audience remains paramount. Therefore, the Chamber Music on the Hill board has decided to postpone all live concerts until the Spring 2021 season, at which time we will reassess based on advisement on the local, state, and federal level.

We know that a number of you had either purchased tickets in advance or maintain a subscription with us that included admission to the June and possibly the October concerts. Please know that your tickets for these concerts are transferable, and we will honor that admission at our next two concerts, whenever they may be. If you are unable to attend, we hope that you will consider your ticket purchase a donation to our organization, which still incurs operating costs even without concerts.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding CMOTH's operation during the pandemic or your subscriptions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Board President John Holbert at (410) 456-9671, or at www.facebook.com/cmoth.

We are extremely grateful for your understanding and for your continued support of the arts in Carroll County.

Sincerely,
The Chamber Music on the Hill Board
