The Westminster Elementary 5th Grade French horns were joined virtually on Wednesday morning by SFC Selena Maytum from the US Army Field Band. Dr. Maytum provided expert tips on basic French horn technique and gave insight about her experiences from performing and touring with the US Army Field Band.
Marsha Herbert, vice-president of the Board of Education, toured South Carroll High School with administrators to look at model classrooms and speak to teachers about the hybrid model of learning.

Who needs some easy Service Learning Hours???
Sykesville Parks and Rec is sponsoring a “Clean Up the Park” day on Saturday, October 10th, 9-12pm. There are 2 meeting spots: 1) Harold Burkett Park, located at 7181 Norris Avenue in Sykesville and 2) Post Office on Oklahoma Road (where the French Twist is). Please wear a mask, bring gloves (heavy duty/gardening gloves recommended), as well as a water bottle (preferably reusable). Trash bags will be provided.
Please RSVP on the Sykesville Parks and Recreation page. Everyone who comes out to help will receive a free popcorn ticket for the movie Sykesville Parks and Rec will be playing the night after park clean up – a Halloween themed movie to be announced!
