The purpose of our page is to communicate information regarding system-wide activities, events, and accomplishments taking place within Carroll County Public Schools. Presented LIVE on the CCPL page by Carroll County Public Library and A Likely Story Bookstore. The presentation will also be available the next day on YouTube.

Career and Technology Center Groundbreaking Ceremony

The Westminster Elementary 5th Grade French horns were joined virtually on Wednesday morning by SFC Selena Maytum from the US Army Field Band. Dr. Maytum provided expert tips on basic French horn technique and gave insight about her experiences from performing and touring with the US Army Field Band.

Marsha Herbert, vice-president of the Board of Education, toured South Carroll High School with administrators to look at model classrooms and speak to teachers about the hybrid model of learning.

Mr. Glenn, custodian, works to improve the South Carroll High School center courtyard.

It's a reunion of principals at the Career and Technology Center! Former principals Bill Eckles and Kate Engel joined current principal Betsy Donovan for today's groundbreaking.

Sykesville Parks and Rec is sponsoring a โ€œClean Up the Parkโ€ day on Saturday, October 10th, 9-12pm. There are 2 meeting spots: 1) Harold Burkett Park, located at 7181 Norris Avenue in Sykesville and 2) Post Office on Oklahoma Road (where the French Twist is). Please wear a mask, bring gloves (heavy duty/gardening gloves recommended), as well as a water bottle (preferably reusable). Trash bags will be provided.
Please RSVP on the Sykesville Parks and Recreation page. Everyone who comes out to help will receive a free popcorn ticket for the movie Sykesville Parks and Rec will be playing the night after park clean up โ€“ a Halloween themed movie to be announced!

Launching Mental Health and Americaโ€™s Kids, a special series, TODAYโ€™s Sheinelle Jones reports on a high school in Westminster, Maryland, where some students are determined to make a difference. Community Media Center of Carroll County

Hear from Carroll County's Board of Education Candidates! The Community Media Center will hold a virtual Board of Education Candidates Forum on Tuesday, September 29th at 7:00 PM Watch it live online at http://bit.ly/2020BOEForum or on cable channel HD-1086 or channel 19.

Bob Blubaugh, editor of the Carroll County Times will serve as moderator for the event. Residents can submit questions for the candidates prior to the forum by emailing them to [email protected]

Candidates who have confirmed participation in the Board of Education Candidates Forum include: Stephanie R. Brooks, Virginia R. Harrison, Marsha B. Herbert and Donna Sivigny. Of these four candidates, two will be elected to the Board of Education.
