Happy Mother’s Day to all of our moms!!
With small business week upon us, we would like to rewind a couple of months to acknowledge the 19th anniversary of our official business opening which we celebrated in March. It is hard to believe that so much time has passed since we moved into our first location, an old one-room brick building on the back alley of Main Street, with a handful of students. Thank you to those who have supported our small school through the years, making it possible to continue teaching what we so strongly believe in. It has been a pleasure, and we look forward to reaching our 20 year milestone next year!

As for tomorrow, we will keep everyone updated with regard to the weather forecast and if it will impact classes.

A few photos from yesterday’s Good Fight Submission Only World Championships. Some of our kids are still new to the competition environment. It can definitely be intimidating, so we are pleased when we see good sportsmanship and positive attitudes through both wins and losses, as well as personal goals of any size that have been set and achieved. With that said, good job for coming out, and congratulations on the following 1st through 3rd place results in each division:
Owen 1st Gi; 2nd NoGi
Jake 1st NoGi; 2nd Gi
Jonah 3rd Gi; 3rd NoGi
Olivia 2nd Gi
Emmitt 3rd NoGi
Luke 3rd NoGi
Nora 3rd NoGi
Jill 3rd NoGi
Charlie 1st Adult Gi
Thank you, Mike G. and Josh for coaching!!

This weekend we celebrated the wedding of our son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Vanessa. Some of our longtime and former instructors were able to join us with their spouses and significant others (although not all are pictured). Jimmy was just 4 years old when CCK was started and he began classes with his sister, Jackie, so it is a little hard to believe that we have gotten to this point so quickly. A beautiful ceremony and all around memorable day!
We would like to remind everyone that there will be no Kenpo (kids & adults) or kids’ jiu jitsu classes on Wed 10/27, Thurs 10/28, or Sat 10/30.
Great test tonight!! Congratulations to everyone on their promotions and stripes. Nice work done by all!!
