A short discussion will follow the screening.

[01/28/15]   Use these preventative strategies to Fight the Flu:

• Wash hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol based hand sanitizers are also effective.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth; germs spread this way.

• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze,or cough and sneeze in your sleeve. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

• Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

[09/10/14]   McDaniel College Wellness Center will offer their first flu clinic tommorrow (September 11) from 11am to 1pm in Ensor Lounge. No appts are necessary.

[08/29/14]   McDaniel College Wellness Center is offering its annual flu clinic on September 11th, September 24th, October 8th, and October 23 from 11am to 1pm in Ensor Lounge.

No appointments are necessary.

Flu shots are payable by cash, check, tuition account, or health insurance.

Although the flu clinic is accepting health insurance, your personal health insurance company may not cover the cost of the shot. If you plan to utilize your personal health insurance, then you should check with your health insurance company and ensure that it covers flu shots.

If you have questions or concerns, then contact Wellness Center at 410-857-2243.

[08/29/14]   Active Minds is a student-run mental health awareness, education, and advocacy organization on college campuses. This group is designed to utilize peer outreach to increase students’ awareness of mental health issues through fun activities (ex: stress relief activities, coffee houses to raise money for local mental charities, etc.)

By promoting awareness and education this group aims to remove mental health stigma from our campus. It is not a support group, clinical service, or club exclusive for psychology students. If you think that you may be interested in being a part of this peer advocacy and education group then please contact Erin MacDougall in the Wellness Center (410-857-2243).

The Wellness Center has arranged for free auricular acupuncture sessions to be offered to students. During the 20 minute free session a licensed and insured acupuncturist will place small needles in the outer ear. Students are welcome to walk into the FORUM on Tuesday and/or contact the Wellness Center with questions about this free event
