Hi friends! I hope everyones summer is going well. It appears the academy website is down - does anyone have any info?
There are still a small number of openings in most grade levels for the 2017-2018 school year. For more information, please contact us at [email protected]. We would love to answer your questions and be privileged to assist you in educating your children!

Christiana Homeschool Academy is a 2-day tutorial program focusing on a Classical approach to education. We are located in Westminster, Maryland.

Christiana Homeschool Academy is a classical, Christ-centered classroom program for homeschoolers. It provides the โ€œbest of both worldsโ€ of homeschooling and private school education. Christiana Homeschool Academy began as a group of families who ran the program for the first time in 2001-2002 as a pilot program on a cooperative basis. We had great success! The students and the moms grew and learned more quickly than we had ever imagined possible! Happily, we decided to open the program to the public based on the facility we procured, as well as the tremendous fruits we experienced during that first year. The program has grown to house Preschool through 12th grade, with an average of 10-12 graduates each year. We have over 40 paid tutors and 150 students within the academy

Operating as usual

It's time to lace up those shoes and run for a cause!

This coming Wednesday the 14th, all CHA students will be running as many laps as they can to help raise money for the school. If you would like to sponsor a student/family, please click the link below. You will be taken to our website where you can make a secure Paypal payment.

Thank you for your support!!

Liberal Arts Majors Are the Future of the Tech Industry

While we teach science at every level, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in High School, some are still skeptical of a classical, liberal arts education in a modern world.

The Harvard Business Review argues that employers in STEM fields are frequently looking for students who have studied the humanities. From the article: "What matters now is not the skills you have but how you think. Can you ask the right questions? Do you know what problem youโ€™re trying to solve in the first place?"

Christiana Homeschool Academy would like to recognize THOMAS ALEXANDER ANDREWS!!

Thomas is 18 years old and looking forward to graduating this year. He has grown up at CHA, attending since he was in the nursery.

Thomas has always enjoyed being active whether playing football, baseball, basketball, riding his bike or walking. Now that he drives and has his own truck he enjoys driving and as always hanging out with his friends.

Since he was a young child, Thomas has had an interest in taking things apart and putting them back together. He could never just leave something alone. It is no surprise that he will attend a trade school where he can do just that. The specific trade has not yet been 100% decided.

Thomas has enjoyed his years at CHA making many friends along the way; lifelong friends. His tutors have been wonderful and have had a positive impact on him which we are very grateful for.

Christiana Homeschool Academy would like to recognize FAITH TAYLOR!!

Faith Taylor was born in Maryland in the summer of 2002 and is the first child and only daughter of Matthew and Omayone Taylor.

Faith was always a very focused child and grew up into a focused student. As a young girl, she was never a big fan of dolls or other such toys. In fact, one year in elementary school (much to her motherโ€™s surprise), she asked for workbooks as her Christmas present!

Faith attended New Town elementary school and then went on to Liberty Christian school for her middle school years.

Faith encountered a number of challenges during her high school years but through them all, by the grace of God, she continued to persevere and remained focused and diligent.

We are so very proud of the young woman that she has become. She is beautiful, confident, and loves Jesus.

Faith is heading to college in the fall and will be attending St. Vincent College in Pennsylvania.

To all Mothers......
* Who are in the throes of endless diaper changes and midnight feedings
* To those who are answering every question that is curiously asked to them
* To those who are helping navigate the teenage years
* To those who are watching their newly minted drivers pull out of the driveway by themselves for the first time
* To those who are on the cusp of sending their hearts into the world of college
* To those who are helping plan weddings and kissing grandbaby toes
* To those who are growing and nurturing the adult relationships with their children
* And to those who have faced the heartbreak of saying goodbye to a piece of their heart which they grew in their womb
YOU ARE LOVED AND APPRECIATED!!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Due to the current educational restrictions from Covid-19, everyone has been forced to homeschool. However, this is closer to CRISIS SCHOOLING rather than homeschooling. This is not a true representation of what homeschooling is all about.

There are many, many options when it comes to homeschooling. HYBRID SCHOOLING combines the best of both worlds. It's utilizing a homeschool Co-Op model 2 days a week while home instruction the remaining 3 days. What sets Christiana apart from a 'traditional Co-Op' is that we provide a full curriculum that is set for you (even for home instruction days) and you aren't required to teach, however we welcome any parents who want to teach and/or have an educational background.

The public education system wasn't prepared to handle this crisis. Christiana was able to transition to an all online program, due to our hybrid set-up, and continue with the current curriculum track with a few adjustments.

This is an amazing program that we welcome you to be a part of!!! Please email us at [email protected] or visit our website

Christiana Homeschool Academy would like to recognize MAXIMILIAN 'MAX' JOSEPH ANTHONY!!!

Scott and Teresa Anthony are proud of their son, Maximilian Joseph Anthony, graduating from CHA in 2020. Max has brought so much joy, laughter and creativity into our family. Max has been at Christiana since his 7th grade year, and in addition to his dramatic and comedic performances at CHA, from playing the Emperor in the โ€œEmperorโ€™s New Clothesโ€ in 8th grade, to belting out โ€œAgonyโ€ in this yearโ€™s Broadway Revue, weโ€™ve watched him diligently apply himself to schoolwork these six years, culminating in all of his hard work on his senior thesis this year, โ€œThe Necessity for Celibacy in the Catholic Priesthoodโ€.
Max has felt the Lord calling him to the priesthood since the age of 5, and in order to further discern if this indeed is the Lordโ€™s will, he is starting at Franciscan University this August to major in Philosophy and Theology, and Lord willing, to be part of their Priestly Discernment Program. As Maxโ€™s parents, we appreciate any and all prayers offered up for Max for his vocational discernment.

"What a supportive community! Besides providing excellent academics, CHA supports families in so many ways. Here are just a few: a buddy system for new students, a modification plan for homework to meet all learning styles, meals for families needing an extra hand, continual prayer covering, and parent support meetings. CHA means family!" - Sherrie Harrison, board member, tutor, mom

โ€œChrist be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.โ€

Did you know that even today pi cannot be calculated preciselyโ€”there are no two whole numbers that can make a ratio equal to pi. Mathematicians find a closer approximation every year, however it all started with Archimedes!

Happy Pi Day!!

Today all students put their mental skills to the test!!

Kindergarten through 3rd grade participated in a Spell-A-Thon. 4th grade through 12th grade participated in a US-A-Thon.

4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade were tested on their knowledge of famous U.S. landmarks while 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade were tested on their Civics knowledge. All questions for the civics test were taken directly from the U.S. Citizenship test.

"We wanted to homeschool our children for many reasons, but we still wanted them to have a structured experience. Christiana provides the perfect balance of flexibility and structure! We appreciate that they can learn at home, but also in a classroom environment, with dedicated tutors that provide experience and accountability in a Christ-centered setting." - Gretchen Sisk, mom of current Kindergartner, 6th Grader & 8th Grader

We hope to see you today at 10am!!!
