Pr. Arthur here. Worship will take place at St. Paul's on Sunday February 17 at 7:30, 9 & 11. 7am report: Roads in Waverly and St. Paul's parking lot have been plowed but they are still snow covered. It is still snowing. This may be the morning to listen to our radio broadcast at 9am on KWAY 99.3 FM.
We are in need of about 4 more tailgating tents (the ones you put up that have just a top to it) to borrow for our Vacation Bible School. Anyone have one or know of one that we can borrow from July 8-13? Please let me know if you do!
Hey St. Paul's, this weekend at our 10am service we will be outside (weather permitting) at Kohlmann Park. We will be doing a blessing of the bikes at the 10am service. Bring your unicycle, bicycle, tricycle, moped or motorcycle - St. Paul's wishes to surround you in prayer! As always, guests are welcome! Please consider reposting if you are a member.

Committed to growing in faith through Christian community for Christ's service. Worship centers us on God's love in our personal lives and our community.

Each week, we join in praise and thanksgiving. No matter your background, preferred worship style, or schedule, St. Paul's welcomes everyone to join in the celebration.

Prayer of the Day for the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost

06/27/2021

Let us come before the triune God in prayer.

God of hope, your sacraments connect us to you and each other. Bless and keep the newly baptized especially Cora Jean Benschoter with the goodness of your grace.. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

Almighty God, we give you thanks for the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land that provides our food. Empower us to be good stewards of everything you have given us. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

Righteous God, we pray for all national, state and local leaders. Guide them in paths of justice and compassion. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

God of healing, your touch has the power to make us whole. Embrace those who have medical concerns especially Bonnie Drenkow, Lee Hinrichs, Arlene Orth, and all suffering with COVID-19. Surround them with your unwavering presence. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

We pray for St. Paul's and all faith communities as they regather after the pandemic. Revive our spirits, renew our relationships, and rekindle our faith, that we might experience resurrection in this community. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

We give thanks for the faithful ancestors in every age whose lives have pointed us towards you. Envelop them in your love, that with Don Schrage and all your saints, we may be reunited with one another when our life ends. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

We lift our prayers to you, O God, trusting in your abiding grace.
Amen.

A woman finds healing by touching Jesus’ cloak, and a girl is restored to life when he takes her by the hand. In both cases a boundary is crossed: in Jesus’ time the hemorrhaging woman was considered ritually unclean, polluting others by her touch, and anyone who touched a co**se also became unclean. In Mark’s gospel Jesus breaks down barriers, from his first meal at a tax collector’s house to his last breath on the cross as the temple curtain is torn in two. We dare to touch Jesus in our “uncleanness” and to live as a community that defines no one as an outsider.

Join us this morning at either 9 a.m. for Traditional Worship or 11 a.m. for Modern Worship! We have both in-person and livestream options available for both services. The livestream will be available online at www.stpaulswaverly.org/live. As a reminder, masks are not required for fully vaccinated individuals. If you are not yet fully vaccinated, we strongly encourage you to wear a mask while inside the building.

St. Paul's would like to wish everyone a blessed Father's Day!

Let us come before the triune God in prayer.

Holy God, you gather your people from east and west, north and south. We pray for the mission of the church throughout the world, that your love may be made known to all peoples. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

You laid the foundations of the earth and the waters are the womb of creation. The morning stars sing your name and all creation shouts for joy. We pray for your blessed creation, that it may continue to flourish and magnify your glory. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

You join with us when the storms of life blow in and cause chaos in our lives. We thank you for coming to those places to bring us peace. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

You are close to the brokenhearted and the ill. Watch over all in need especially Pr. Dennis Dickman, Allison Banwart-Hales, Fred Johnson, Tamela Johnson, Lorraine Kohagen, Arlene Orth, and all suffering with COVID-19. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

You dwell with us in this faith community. We pray for our leaders and members alike. Bless and keep St. Paul's as we regather after the pandemic. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

Your love endures in all situations. On this Father’s Day, we pray for those who are fathers or wish to be fathers, for those with broken or strained relationships, for those who are missing their fathers, and for fathers who have lost children. Bless and strengthen them. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

You gather the faithful dead to dwell with the great cloud of witnesses. We remember those who we have loved and lost especially Hilda Fedeler, Lowell Granneman, Lorraine Kohagen, Marilyn Michaelson, and Liz Wuertz. Lord in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

We lift our prayers to you, O God, trusting in your abiding grace.
Amen.

Now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation! Now we are in the storm, the boat almost swamped; but Jesus is here now, and when we call him, he will calm the storm. Even the wind and waves listen to him as they would to their creator. We also listen to him and are called to believe in the power of God’s word in him, a power greater than all that we fear.
