Mission: Frank Haney III has taught music lessons in the Chicagoland area since June 2001. He is dedicated and passionate about providing students with a music education that is both motivational and inspirational. Haney believes that everyone can be successful at music with determination, practice, and the proper learning tools. He has taken students from video games to the drum line. Helped siblings of students who quit music store lessons become re-energized and learn multiple instruments. Haney has a tremendous amount of patience and respect for others and brings a human approach to his teaching that he feels is sorely lacking in music education. Frank has taken a special interest in music since he was a small child. He took piano lessons as a child, was in choir during junior high, and he started playing guitar as a teenager. He finally felt completely at home after being introduced to the drums in the mid-90s. After having many life-altering concert experiences involving top bands such as The Who, Haney decided to take his love of music to a professional level. He enrolled in an intense training regimen at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. Drawing from the inspiration provided by his favorite teacher at MI, Ray Luzier, Frank started his teaching career. Haney started teaching drums at a local music store in 2001. After growing tired of the lack of flexibility provided for the students and their families at the store, he started on his own in March of 2003. He taught drums exclusively until a students little brother quit his guitar lessons at a music store. He was bored and didn’t want to play music anymore. Frank started teaching him the guitar, then added the drums. He continues to teach him to this day. More siblings, parents and new students of guitar followed. In 2009, Haney started playing bass for the national music act, The Black Mollys. Currently, Frank is spending time revisiting the piano to help keep improving as a teacher and a lifelong student. 2014 has started out with some current and former students doing great things with their music!
A current student played the Outback Bowl with the Carmel High School band. Not bad for a guy who started to play drums on rock band, learned how to read, and joined the school band...in High School!
A former student is currently touring Europe with his metal band!
[11/12/13] Winter temps are starting early this year. Need a new indoor hobby? Playing an instrument is a good way to break from the usual computer and TV time. Good time to start...
[11/04/13] There is nothing more rewarding than hearing a new student say "ooooohhhh" with a huge grin, when I explain music to them...up to 5x in the first lesson if they have struggled to understand this very unique language. I can make it easy for you.
Happy Friday! I have signed up to thumbtack.com to help spread the word about mobilemusiclessons.net
