Humanities.Games goes international!
Really enjoyed our demo this evening for the students at Liceo de Puriscal in Costa Rica! We can't wait to see what games they come up with!
Thank you again to the National Endowment for the Humanities for supporting this platform that enables learning through the act of creating an educational game.
Spark Field Trip at the Van Gogh Expo. We learned a lot about this troubled genius, and found ourselves very inspired by the exhibit’s creative way of telling his story.
Veterans Know: Reaching out for support can be uncomfortable, but taking action for your mental health is important.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has started a new initiative called Make the Connection, where people can hear stories and advice from veterans who found the resources to help them manage their mental health challenges. This Mental Health Month, visit

Today is Mental Health Action Day! This is the day where we all need to come together to “shift our mental health culture from awareness to action.”
This year’s theme is CONNECTION as people of all ages continue to seek out ways to cope with loneliness stemming from the pandemic and turn to peer counseling to support their emotional wellbeing.
So let’s spread the word that we can take actions to improve our mental health just like our physical health. It’s a good day to challenge ourselves to be present, to ask the difficult questions, to listen, and to help others be seen.
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) just announced that the recently formed Su***de Prevention and Response Independent Review Committee will be led by Dr. Gayle Iwamasa, a mental health expert from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
This Committee is such a positive step for addressing the mental wellbeing of our veterans who deserve as much support as they can get. As Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin wrote in March when the Review Committee was first established:
"We have the strongest military in the world because we have the strongest team in the world. It is imperative that we take care of all our teammates and continue to reinforce that mental health and su***de prevention remain a key priority. One death by su***de is one too many. And su***de rates among our service members are still too high. So, clearly we have more work to do."

A rocking crowd tonight at the The Birchmere to watch GOODING perform. Such a thrilling and exciting show!
We always like to see Gooding when he comes to town. We’ve worked with him a couple of times, most recently on Scattering CJ, and he is a genius musician, a generous collaborator and always a joy to work with. Rock on, Gooding!
We are saddened by the tragic passing of country music icon Naomi Judd after her lifelong battle with mental illness.
As an advocate for mental wellness, Judd was outspoken about her own experiences and the necessary support we can all seek from our loved ones.
In her memoir she wrote, “Even in the darkest days, I was never blinded to the compassion from my beloveds who continually reached down with loving hands and lifted me out of my harrowing nightmare of despair.”
