FTC Secure Injunction against credit repair company for violation of UDAP, TSR, Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA), Credit Review Fairness Act (CRFA)and Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA). Payment Processors and banks should take note of multiple actions by the FTC for Credit Repair and Interest Rate Reduction Programs. The FTC is also taking actions against multiple companies related to the Credit Review Fairness Act. Due diligence should include careful review of websites and agreements and monitoring for consumer complaints.

Progress is being made on Multistate Licensing Agreement for Financial Services Companies. This initiative started with 7 participating states. This effort will greatly reduce the regulatory examination burden for those companies required to be licensed in multiple states.
