One of the goals of ALP was to increase the number of college enrollees amongst this student population by providing counseling, scholarships, and mentoring services. Since its inception, ALP has served 1,150 participants and awarded more than $1.1 million in scholarships. DCPS has released the academic calendar for School Year 2020-2021. We will add five instructional days for students by reducing three professional development days for staff to accommodate as much in-person instruction as health conditions allow.
To help students transition into SY20-21, we will hold a Summer Bridge program for students entering grades 3, 6, and 9. If health conditions allow, Summer Bridge will take place in-person Monday through Thursday from August 10-13 and 17-20. Advance registration will be required.
The first day of school for students is Monday, August 31, 2020, and the last day of school for students is Thursday, June 24, 2021. Explore the full SY20-21 calendar online at dcps.dc.gov/page/dcps-calendars.
