Gonzaga High School alum a finalist for college football's top award Washington D.C. native, Caleb Williams, is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.

Gonzaga Football joins many across the country in offering our support and prayers for the community.

During the memorial service on Saturday, Hunter Stewart ‘19, a linebacker, offered a reflection and read a poem by Langston Hughes to honor his three fallen teammates. Curome Cox ‘98 is an assistant coach for the Cavaliers and Jestus Johnson ‘20 is a second year player. Our prayers are with the entire team, their families, and all of those impacted by this tragic loss.

SENIOR DAY to honor the Class of 2023 is upon us! Here is a message to our 21 🏈🦅 from Head Coach Randy Trivers:

Gonzaga Football functions from a focused foundation inclusive of the Eagles Creed, NEF, T-3 & AMDG. I have the utmost admiration and respect for our class of 2023 seniors for their steadfast commitment to our institution, our program and their families over the past 4 years.

The 2023 Eagles are a special group of young men because they possess the courage to be men of action. These young men have grown to represent words with deeds. For their home field finale, today's word is SACRIFICE which is appropriately the final word in our EAGLES Creed.

I appreciate the class of 2023 seniors and their families for putting words into action, and thank you for investing fully from head to toe. The relationships, moments and memories are immeasurable.

“The 6-foot-6, 290-pound senior has been an offensive lineman since the start of his football career in fifth grade, outside of his eighth-grade year where he had a short stint at quarterback. But when he transitioned back to the line at the start of high school, it just felt like it was his natural home on the football field.

While a lineman does not receive the love that a quarterback or a dynamic playmaker would, their role is just as critical as anyone on any given play.

In order for a play to work as designed, every player has to perform the task that they are supposed to, starting with the five up front.

‘Your block matters,’ Link said. ‘What you do can help create a cutback lane or a hole for the running back to begin with. Every play I can help my team.’

Over the years, Link has helped his team a lot. That is why he had the opportunity to choose between a plethora of Division I offers and ultimately committed to the University of Michigan in August.”

OTA Week 3️⃣ culminated with back to back days of competition to continue to build Togetherness, Toughness, and Trust. Our steadfast faith and love in our institution, our program and in each other is the heart of our story. Whether it be the myriad of struggles brought on by the pandemic or enduring tough playoff losses, we always manage to stay tough, stick together and trust to ultimately fly high. This spirit yielded amazing moments in our unforgettable 2018 and Spring 2021 championship campaigns. This is undoubtedly the grit and gusto needed to face challenges awaiting us beyond our landmark commencement. It's been my honor to share multiple unforgettable moments and create everlasting bonds.
