The J.O. Wilson Elementary School Kitchen Garden is a part of a larger neighborhood improvement plan in the NOMA neighborhood of DC to revitalize the school grounds, creating a healthy and creative gathering space for students and the community.
The Kitchen Garden aims to increase the environmental sustainability of the school grounds through implementation of green infrastructure practices, increase visibility and community access of school facilities, provide educational opportunities to the students and the public and highlight the importance of the urban agricultural movement in creating a sustainable and equitable food systems.

Our amazing garden club ended the year by creating some beautiful garden art! We created collages using items such as coleus leaves, dandelions, herbs, and flowers to explore our senses.
We had a fantastic strawberroes & Salad Greens Day! A big thank you to everyone that helped make this day happen! It was a day full of fun and learning. Our students loved their strawberries and some learned they love salad as well.
