On Sunday, March 9th, our House Band will be crossing over the Bay Bridge, coming together at Cult Classic Brewery in Stevensville for a benefit concert in support of the Society for the Prevention of Teen Su***de (SPTS).

This is more than just a concert—it’s a chance for our community to come together, support an essential cause, and show the power of music in making a difference. We would love to see you there and appreciate any support you can give, whether by attending, spreading the word, or contributing to the cause. All proceeds from the event will go directly to SPTS. Some of these fantastic Performers will be seen later this Summer on stage at the Let's Go Festival!

The School of Rock Vienna House Band will be taking part in a couple really great benefit shows coming up. First, this Saturday, February 22nd from Noon to 7pm at the Filling Station at El Rey in Arlington is Febininomenon! House Bands from Annapolis, Ashburn, Columbia, Gambrills, Silver Spring and Vienna will be rockin' out to raise money for Inova Health Foundation, an organization near and dear to our hearts. Entry to the show is free but please donate if you can using the QR code. Second, we will be heading to Cult Classic Brewery in Stevensville, MD on March 9th for a show to benefit The Society for the Prevention of Teen Su***de and will feature students auditioning to participate in the Let's Go Festival this Summer 🤘😍🤘

Dear School of Rock Community,

We are continuing with a new initiative at School of Rock that we rolled out this past fall, known as Prep Week. This is a seasonal practice that will occur after each of our Performance Program shows and before the first rehearsal of the new season. So for this season, Prep Week will be February 3rd through February 9th. This practice is in line with a long-held tradition of most School of Rock locations across the globe.

So… What is Prep Week?
Prep Week is a designated week at the end of each Performance Program season where our school will be closed for business (similar to an in-service week in public school systems).

This means no rehearsals, no groups, and no lessons. No one besides managers and staff will be allowed on site during this time. This brief closure will allow our full team to focus on important activities such as:

Staff Training and Development: Ensuring our team is up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and School of Rock safety practices.

Logistics Preparation: Planning and organizing for the upcoming season to ensure a seamless transition.

Gear Maintenance: Repairing and maintaining our instruments and equipment needs.

Facility Improvements: Addressing any facility concerns and deep-cleaning our spaces.

Student Break: Providing students with a well-deserved break before the new season begins.

When will Prep Week take place?
Prep Week will go into effect February 3rd through February 9th.

A Reminder About Tuition:
As a reminder to all families, SOR’s tuition is based on a yearly average and we do not charge extra for the months that have five weeks. Prep Week allows us to ensure we consistently provide four lessons per month per student over the course of the year. These Prep Week closures are now replacing our previous Summer and Winter Break closures. We will not close the week after Summer Camps this year, nor will we be closing the week between Christmas and New Year's. Lessons and Rehearsals will also remain regularly scheduled during Spring Break.

Join our House Band for a special Holiday Concert and Food Drive with our House Band friends from the School of Rock Ashburn and School of Rock Silver Spring ! We will be rocking from 6:30PM to 9:00PM at Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn. All Proceeds Benefit Dulles South Food Pantry.

You can bring your Non-perishable food items to the Rock n’ Stock Food Drive Concert, or drop them off at the Ashburn School of Rock before January 1st.
