Some pictures of an event some of our team members attended this weekend and Capri Tools was apart of. We would like to Thank TheGTRally for including us in their Cars and Planes BBQ. We would also like to Thank Aviator Flight Training and The Aviator’s Club for taking some of our team members up for a flight! 🚗🛩
Its a far cry from the Embraer E-175 that aviatrix Eli just started flying for Alaska Airlines but this was a fun summer shoot in California 2014 with the Commemorative Air Force Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Grumman F4F Wilcat/Martlet at Aviator Flight Training and The Aviator’s Club with amazing help from Chief Pilot Daniel Wotring.

Hi, I wonder if it is possible to go for a ride in the Stearman on the 10th of December? I’m an airline pilot from Sweden on a layover in Los Angeles. I sent you a message and an e-mail one week ago, but didn’t receive any reply.
Regards, Kristofer

Flashback to a Photoshoot a couple months ago for in their DC-3

Back home and flying one of my favorite airplanes. My 1952 Cessna 170B. We should do a video on it one of these days!

This is a great video done by our friends at Mid America Flight Museum in their C-47 with a pilot that flew THAT airplane in WWII. It’s worth the watch!

This weekend was an amazing experience for our own Daniel Wotring. He was able to join the crew of B-29 Doc and go on tour. He says the training was incredible, the team was exceptional and the experience was amazing. He is looking forward to more trips with them in the future.

Congratulations to Rod Anthony for completing his Second In Command training in the C-47 “That’s All Brother”. I look forward to flying with him on tour! Great job!

4.2 hours of dual given in this beautiful machine today. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to fly and train people in THE lead airplane for the D-Day invasion.

On an airline flight this morning and I’m glad we aren’t the only kids that are fascinated by flight!

Not a bad day when your in the back of a BT-13 coaching a good pilot in the front!

Not a bad place to spend the day!

Second flight of the day!

Blue Skies Obie! It was a pleasure sharing the skies with you.

We recently learned of the passing of Charles "Obie" O'Brien, one of our founding museum pilots. We recently hosted Obie a year ago last fall, to re-introduce him to the actual Corsair he flew during the Korean War, re-painted in his VF-44 Squadron markings. Obie was known as the "Corsair Guy" and started flying our Corsair before the museum was built. Blue skies and tailwinds, Obie...

Daniel just got home from doing a photo shoot with Vaerus Jet Sales and Scott Germain for an upcoming advertisement. It is amazing to work with the Vaerus team and we feel lucky to be around them!

Our second video is up on YouTube! we hope you enjoy! Link to the video is in the comments. Like and subscribe!

In Denver on a layover traveling g to start a week long road trip! Im@looking forward to catching up with many of my aviation friends!

Scare Coupe - Part 1 02/01/2023

First video is live!!! Check it out and share it please!

Scare Coupe - Part 1 What is it like for a high time pilot to fly an airplane without rudder pedals for the very first time? Jeffrey Kent: Wotring: ...

Premiering at noon today (PST) the first episode of our new venture! We hope you enjoy!

We have some great things coming up! You will notice the new logo, soon you will see a new name and you will be seeing much more activity. A lot of it will be some of the stuff you used to love that came from Aviator Flight Training but we are going to be bringing you all along for some of our adventures, flights of airplanes and even see what it takes for us to grow as pilots!

We are very excited to bring to you this new and exciting chapter.

Airspeed and Altitude is our new YouTube Channel. This is a terrifying step for Daniel (the founder of Aviator Flight Training), but we hope you enjoy watching. Our first video drops on YouTube on February 1st 2023.

We hope you enjoy and share with your friends. We hope to do our part to show some of the amazing things that aviation has to offer!

Blue Skies!
Daniel Wotring

Almost to Wright Field! Pilot briefing complete. Now just waiting for our time!

AFT throwback. 2013

It’s been a great week here in the Midwest doing some fun formation training.

Photos from Airspeed and Altitude's post 05/16/2022

Here’s a little look back at the fun of last week. I was at Palm Springs Air Museum for 3 days giving instruction in their beautiful T-6, then got to do a little flying for me in one of their T-28’s. Thanks to Pat Nightingale and Steve Rose for some great instruction!

I spent the day with these two lovelies today. The Alon Aircoupe (yes this one is an AirCoupe vs Ercoupe) is interesting to fly to say the least!

We had a great but bittersweet weekend here at Aviator Flight Training. A few months ago we sold the Varga Kachinas to a new company that will be based at Flabob Airport. The Aviator Flight Training team will be central in developing their flight training activities especially the Formation Training. Selling the airplanes was not an easy decision for me (Daniel) to make, but it became clear that they had the financial strength to grow this into something I could only dream of. I held off on making any announcements until the time was right but, recently the buyers decided to hold off the opening of their doors until some infrastructure was in place at Flabob Airport ignorer to better serve their customers. This prompted the decision to take full advantage of the down time between now and then. Part of taking advantage of that time it was decided to send the 3 airplanes in for a complete overhaul including engines, paint, avionics and anything they need after 40+ years in service. This is an exciting development because they are also looking for another Varga 2150A to add to this fleet!

What does this mean for Aviator Flight Training? We will be continuing our flight training specifically in bringing high quality tail wheel training in our Cessna 170B and we will be focusing again on warbird training including doing SIC and PIC training in Douglas DC-3’s! We are working on some options for Formation Training as well. This journey has also given us the opportunity to introduce new generations to warbird and antique airplanes which we will be sharing in the future!

Thank you for your continued interest and support in our adventures!

Congratulations to John Mahany on completing his DC-3 Second in Command Type Rating in the Flabob Express.

Stay tuned for lots of great stuff that is coming together!

Come by and learn to fly formation!

Lovely Afternoon Cable Airport

Thanks for getting this great shot as we were waiting for our time to fly in the Airshow in Topeka Kansas!

Started off the day with a Lyft to LAX and got a Covid test for the Aviation Adventure I’m starting today.

What a great weekend out here at the Thunder Over The Heartland Airshow in Topeka, KS. Flying the AC-47 “Spooky” was a great experience!

Such an honor to fly this airplane in support of the American Flight Museum!

Flying the AC-47 “Spooky” today!

Great day! Completed a 1049NM flight to take a plane to a charity event for the owner. Got to land at the airport (Santa Rosa, CA) I first started my office lessons. Last time I landed there I was pre-solo student pilot. Had a heck of a great day flying with a good friend. This is why we chase our dreams!
