Our Story

UPS (not to be confused with the United Parcel Service) is a group of University of Minnesota undergraduate students who are passionate about physiology and the human body. Founded in 2009, UPS is student-governed, and affiliated with the department of Integrative Biology and Physiology, with Dr. Vincent Barnett as our advisor. Although many members are physiology majors, this is not a requirement for membership, and we encourage non-majors to attend our meetings and events. UPS serves to build a community between undergraduate physiology majors, as well as any students interersted in the field of human physiology.UPS has monthly meetings in addition to social events and service projects spread throughout the school year in order to foster a growing sense of community among undergraduate students interested in physiology. We introduce guest speakers at each meeting, including IBP faculty and staff, physiology alumni, professors and TAs, and more. UPS also organizes tours of research labs and field trips to events in the surrounding community.
