Today, we remember the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader whose dream of equality, justice, and unity continues to inspire the world.
Let us reflect on his words:
โDarkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.โ
As we celebrate his courage and vision, letโs commit ourselves to building a future rooted in compassion, understanding, and hope.

Ms. Jack's 1st grade class at Sewells Point Elementary School had the great honor of finally meeting their class pen pal! โ๏ธ
Ms. Christina Waterfield (retired Coast Guard) came and visited, bringing goodies and post cards from the Queen Mary 2 ๐ข which she sailed on from NYC to the UK. ๐ฌ๐งThere she visited the ancient Stonehenge! She also brought each student a coin and chocolate from Ireland! ๐ฎ๐ช
Students were thrilled to meet her and ask questions about her travels.
As she left, she reminded the students that there's a great big world ๐ out there and they should all travel to see as much of it as possible! ๐งณ
